Thats great. 4500/- seems to be the lowest price online i believe as of now. Very few shops in Lamington road stocking Adata. I was not interested in Adata so didnt bother with the price due to to time constraints.

I didnt inquire about 3 TB prices in depth as many shops didnt have it in stock and I didnt have time to wait for them to get me a quote. I may be going to Lamington again next week so can try and find out.
Yes good even though the seller with this ADATA CH11 listing is hell of a guy to deal with, but on my persistence similar to your deal I got the ADATA HV610 model as he did not have the stock of CH11 model at the same 4500 price.

Wow! The prices are falling fast! I picked up one of these from the same seller for 4900.00 after applying a 7.5% coupon just last week. I should have waited for a bit. It was the coupon that pushed me :sad:

today got latest update from singapore through a news article in newspaper that HDD price will fall down now.. so i guess the wait is over.. week or 2 it should be back to normal prices.

Ordered 1TB WD element for Rs.4575 yesterday.The lowest priced link was declared as Deal,so couldnt apply coupon.So tried another link from same seller,used 10% off & so got the said price.Received it today.

I would like to just go to a shop in Bangalore and pick up a 2TB external HDD to back up my digital music. I wondered if anyone can recommend a place near Indiranagar side that sells them reasonably. I would be OK with paying a small premium without getting ripped off. Going to City market etc. is a bit of a pain. Thanks!

Illusion - Checked at Lamington Road and your price for Seagate is better.
3 TB external at Lamingtion road is Rs. 9,400/- for Seagate and Rs. 10,500/- for WD.

Based on my past experience with SeaGate 1 TB HDDs I will NEVER Use a SeaGate HDD even if I get it free.
3 SeaGate HDDs that I bought ( 1 USB external & 2 SATA internal ) ALL failed.
Their service department 'repaired' them and the repaired / refurbed units also All failed.
Fedup with loosing data, I will not use another SeaGate HDD.
I have shifted to WDD, and not had a single failure.
Maybe your experience with Seagate has been better, i just wanted to share my experience so that others do not go thru the same agony of repeatedly loosing data..

IndianEars - your statement towards Seagate holds true to an extent and I too have faced a similiar problem with Seagate and lost some valuable data and also the backup of the data both of which was kept on Seagate HDD's. But then WD HDD's are also susceptible to similiar failures but as compared to Seagate the percentage is much lower.
For the same reason I guess seagate HDD's had a longer warranty period as compared to WD. Of late I too have moved to WD with my fingers crossed
