Lets see who has the longest chain:-) also would be interesting to see how the next speaker choice evolved.

You had a Warfe 9.1 set ??? !!!]

ok mine.. Let me start with my oldest...

Pioneer speakers DIY >>[PC]Creative Cambridge Soundworks 2.1 >> Logitech Z5500 [/PC] >> Klipsch-Rf82s+RC-62+Polk Audio TSi 300s Now changed to PSB Image B6(Guess how i got em..:P)[Current]

I know I added my PC speakers but believe me I used to play a lot of music in my comp and now I use it only for source..!!! and wanted to make my chain longer :D

I am an old man (in hifi terms :) ..... I cannot possibly remember chronology, only brands. B&W was the first 30 years ago in Kolkata, but after that....Celestion (super in its time), NHT, Martin Logan (electrostats), Vienna Acoustics, Wilson (not my cup of tea), Talon Audio, Hales, ACapella (plasma tweeters...cool), Amphion (for HT), Reference 3A, Ascendo (difficult to mate), Usher, Focus Audio (lovely), Marten Design (current) are the brands that come to mind....

...brands I always wanted to try included Eggleston Works, Rockport, Hansen Audio and Magico.

OOOOmph!!! the one above this .. Staxxx hassome crazy list huh!!! but I am expecting more such beautiful lists !!! and they know I am talking about them!!!

I have owned a lot of cheap speakers. Cheap ones because of two reasons. I am a value for money guy and unless something pushes me out of my comfort zone due to its price performance ratio, I don't buy it.

Difficult to make an orderly list here, so I will just list whatever I can recall.

Elgin, Ahuja, Philips, Akai, Aiwa, Sony, Intex, Logitec, Creative, KLH, Klipsch, JBL, KEF, Dali, Avance, Tannoy, MK Sound.

May be I missed one or two.

I never 'sold' or upgraded .... just kept on adding!
Its all there in my signature ... ;)

Avid,

Its great to know that you just add components than doing a normal update.I have a query here
1.How are you maintain all the sets? Do you use all the set up on random or daily basis or just dedicated sets for a prefer style of music

Eg: Am planing to setup Vintage speaker and a amp for Listening 60s and 80s indian music and set two for 90s-till date and third set for Movies.

But having doubt, whether the audio components does result in non-functioning:), if its not been used for a while?

First big purchase out of my own money started with
Altec Lansing 621 - (2001) -> Altec Lansing 641 (2002) -> Onkyo S3300 (2010) -> Quad lite2 (2012)

naah, nothing of that sort happens. If you look carefully, I do not think any of my equipments (except, maybe one or two components) is real hi-fi. I would say, mid-fi ... thats more apt. My set-up indeed has your idea ... ST3 being used predominantly for Instrumentals, vocals, classical .... ST2 for jazz, rock, sometimes to provide 'background' in the living room. ST1 is for TT output and bollywood FM channels. All three set-ups in three separate rooms. The HT is at a different room too, BUT, hardly any movies go on in that place ... Its either plain cable TV or music on 5.1 ... a pleasant (once a while) change from the usual 2 channel hearing!
A select few (of the gadgets) get their regular power feed .... maybe, twice a week, on an average. The rest are over-worked!

Whoa! That's quite extensive and impressive.

Thanks! Two things I learnt from this......one, it's all about the synergy between the entire system (including cables etc.) rather than any one component....and two, three less speakers and perhaps I could have retired! Damn !! :)

Onkyo HTIB used for stereo (Before Joining HFV) :ohyeah: --> Wharfedale diamond 9.2 (After joining HFV) --> Sonodyne Sonus 2605 (Stereo) + Sonus HT Setup...:)

History begining from about 1974 or so, when I am just starting college.

HMV speakers that came with the turntable-amp combo. Begged my father to buy it, and spent hours listening to them for over a decade

Used Phillips HIQ with Phillips receiver and tape deck and TT- This saw me through much of the early 80's

Cyrus 780 stand mounts with Cyrus One amp and much later with tube Lyrita amp. Speakers lasted a decade until I gave them away

Proac Tabletter Ref 7, with Audio analogue amp and then with Leben 300xs. Ran them a long time..

Contrast Audio stand mount with Leben.

Blumenhofer Big fun 17 with Leben and now with Xindak A600E

That's it so far. Its 2016, and not far from retirement, but I am quite content. I do know that I will have to spend a bomb to upgrade! Should that happy day ever come, Luckily for me my amp can take on anything!
Cheers
