I seem to be having speed problems with my Michell Gyrodec TT.
Turntable seems to sound slow.

What could be the reasons? The platter requires slight initial push when the motor is turned on. Also, I found that when the belt drive is removed, the platter is not rotating freely for long time.

What could be the reason?
- Low oil level in Bearing
- Damaged bearing
- Improper fixing of Bearing

Could Noida Electricity Board be supplying wrong frequency electricity.
Do i need to have some kind of special electricity conditioner.

Definitely check the bearing and how freely the heavy platter is spinning. It should rotate freely and not constrained.

Secondly download the service manual from vinylengine.com and ready. I am not sure what type of motor and speed control is used in Gyrodec, but must be a synchronous motor.

Such an expensive turntable requires a proper power supply anyway.

Please do some basic trouble shooting and post back.

Cheers.

Casual check on the net shows Gyrodec has AC sync motor and later models had a DC motor. If the motor is a problem there are many people to repair or supply a replacement. I guess there is no need to worry.

CHeers.
