SMSL SU-8 vs Schiit Modi Multi Bit

Were you not getting this issue when using an external dac along with a Xonar DX ? Asking since I upgraded my PC and i have joined your wagon of the humm ingame :p

I will connect the Xonar DX back if its gonna help eliminate the humm.
No humm with old ATI R7 240 GPU on DAC connected with USB. It is a known issue that happens with some Nvidia GPUs only while gaming.

It will completely eliminate the humm but only if you use Toslink.

Using the TOSLINK from onboard right now, it has reduced the humm by a good 80%. Can be heard only when there is a silent round, will try the xonar dx alternative too.

From the specs of smsl su-8 below ,
does USB having higher sampling rates translate to better audio ?

Bit depth:
USB:1bit-32bit
Optical/coaxial:1bit-24bit

Sampling rate:
USB:PCM:44.1-768kHz DSD:2.28224-22.5792MHz
Optical/coaxial:32-192kHz DSD64(DoP)

Does
The differmce in bit depth and sampling rate really translate to higher sq ( not theoretically )
Practically is midfi audio with compromised rooms ( as opposed to audition rooms ) as most of us have
Especially when you are already at 24 bit

My personal experience in above scenario
Doesn't seem to

Just my personal thoughts ( absolutely MY personal experience )
For members who are a bit ocd

Forgot to add
On my visit to China
I did get a chance to compare the schidt , toping and smsl

Of course this was at a smsl dealers audio room ( so it was probably set up for bias - though I didn't see any )

The su 8
Did better the schidt
Speakers were dynaaudio.contour
Amplifier was a line magnetic and also a couple of tube mono blocks
Called hiend ( or something like that )
Though not pronounced as "high end "

The m300 dac though was my absolute favorite though
