Hi guys i just bought the sonus 2504 from the sonodyne store at mani sq mall, kolkata. Price after discount of 20% is Rs.18700. They will be delivered tomorrow.

I am giving away a almost working sony dvd player to avail 20% discount.

Congrats akhil, enjoy your purchase and wish you many years with them. BTW, do you have to give some working electronics to avail the discount?

What kind of electronic goods they are looking for? Working/ non-working? Are they even taking tvs? Does they exchange price vary i.e. are you going to get 20% on old dvd player irrespective of what you purchase?

Please provide some more info on the exchange scheme.

An other example to check if it is Value for money or not...

Am not sure how many are aware of Sonodyne Studio Monitor products... One of their studio product SM100Ak (bookshelf size) retails for 65K approx...

Now these are made from aluminium moulds (more costlier than wood), have amplifiers for tweeter & woofer seperately (Active Bi- Amp), a pair for 65K.....

What do you think of international passive speakers (which is made of wood & no amplifier) which retails for close to this price (or) more than this ?... Can you sense the Value for money :ohyeah:

BTW india is getting cheaper than China in production costs...
Very interesting product - are there more details of this available somewhere - review etc.? Thanks!!

Hey guys I have taken few pics of unboxing the Sonus 2504 FS which i bought this saturday but dont know how to upload them here.

If you think of complete package Sonodyne 5.0 package comes at around 43k (Sonus 2605,C 2401,R-ears after discounts) and you can get Wharfedale Obsidian 600 HCP, Jamo S606 HCS3 for similar price.

.

I believe Obsidian 600 is now 70K + because of unfortunate Pound sterling exchange rates

See i m pretty tech savvy but still a newbie to the Hi-fi and audiophile world and don't really know what certain terms still mean like, Bright Sounding / Forward Sounding or Laid Back speakers... or what a Pre-Amp or a Power Amp is....I hope you're getting what i am trying to say.

My reference point of comparing good sound is perhaps with my Logitech Z-5500 which i used for a year with my pc, tata sky and dvd player and found it to be the most bad-ass PC/multimedia speaker ever made available in India.

Secondly, I have a good budget ICE setup in my car and I think the JBL Ovals and the Pioneer Champion Series 12 inch woofer -- both fitted inside a coffin in the rear sound pretty awesome.

So by now some of you must have understood that I like the music Loud and Punchy and am a BASS freak and like tight as well as deep bass and my Logitech system (which i sold to buy the Denon 1312 Package) and my cars current system gave / gives me that.

But some ppl say that the kind of music you hear in a car is actually bad bass. Audiophile sound for home speakers is totally not what i wrote above.

But truth is that I like that sound i guess and am looking to get the same from my Denon 1312 AvR, 1312 Sub and Sonus 2504 which i just bought.

Still fiddling around with the settings and haven't found a sweet spot for the sub... the bass sounds so different when i stand at different points in the room. But since the room is already cramped, i have limited options to place the sub..

any ideas, suggestions?? sorry if i sounded like a NOOB while writing this post. We all are novices at the start !

place the sub in corner an move the FS away from the wall.. let them breathe... the sub yes sounds boomy at diffrent places. due to standing waves.. you will have to go through HIT and TRIAL ...

but as a general rule.. corner with lil space from wall on either sides should give you improvement.

Hi ppl... have been waiting to do this for a while but didnt get time. Well thanks to the Father of The Nation i got time today and moved the sub inside the room and placed it in aesthetically acceptable spots. And finally placed it in another corner which is diagonally opposite to my HT Setup, but close to my bed which is my listening position. And it sounds awesome.

My listening position the center of my bed (Where the soft toy sits in the attached pic). SO the sub is basically on my right, but behind me in the shaft for the almirah (refer to the pics). It sounds good and deep and I can feel it working from the center of the bed which is my listening position. So now i am kinda happy with the bass. Plus theres no other spot in my 10ft by 11 ft room where i can keep my sub.

Materials used - Since i dont have a long subwoofer cable, i have joined/chained the supplied 1 meter subwoofer cable with 2 RCA cables which i had got with sum DVD player or tata sky. I used the Female to Female RCA plugs / coupler which i got from Chandni Market for Rs.10 a pair. I used the RCA as it was already available and before hearing the final output i didnt want to go for a branded Long Subwoofer cable like Banridge etc which costs Rs.1200 or so.

So the experiment work and I am happy with the SUbs performance. NOw I must get a long subwoofer cable and get the wire to the other side of the room in a concealed fashion and move the power cable as well as the subwoofer cable out of the way. So will order a Banridge Cable which is roughly 25-30 Ft or 10 Meters and run it around my bed so that its not visible.

Is there any Sonodyne listening room in bangalore other than one in Forum Mall?
It is too much of noise there and not a proper listening room.

Check in Evamall , Chroma outlet on a weekday afternoon, no crowd and you can have an audition. I auditioned twice there...

How many listening rooms Sonodyne has in Blore?. Please give address and contact details too.

I'll be in Bangalore next month. Plan to audition their stuff.
