The advertisement in Times of India by Sony shows reduced prices of W series.
I see that 46inch W series avaliable for 1,13,900 before it was 1,33,000. This is good news if it is not a mistake from Sony. The bad thing is that they did not bring down the price of Z series.
Please note that this is for the new modes. 550 series and 450 series.

46 V series - 93900 reduced by 10K
46 W series - 1,13,900 reduced by 20k

The website still shows the old prices.

well i am sure sony will price the Z550A cheaper then the current Z450A.the Z450A had the floating glass design and much better sound quality.the newer Z550A is downgraded in aesthetics and sound quality.

What is the major difference between the W & V series other than Motionflow? Is build quality of the components & Panel of W, better than the V?

Even I would like to find out the differences between W and V series.

The only difference from the website is 100hz motion. I found V series picture quality to be more natural compared to W series. This was with 40 inch 550 series.

I am not sure why Z series 550 is still priced at 1,83,900. The only additional thing over W series is 240Hz motion plus technology.

But is it worth the 70000 Rs difference?

I don't think so.

Im sure Sony would correct this anomally soon, but only a little bit as there are many other changes they would need to make, e.g. even the 40Z450 is priced at 1.2L and how much they would price 40Z550 when they launch it in India (I think it should be available at around 1L in grey though)

well the Z550A will eventualy be cheaper then the current Z450A.the Z450A was the XBR6,7 in the US.XBR is sonys premium range of tvs in the US.the Z550A doesn't look any where as expensive as the Z450A.
currently the 40W550A costs around 90k in thailand where the tv is manufactured it is sold in india for 94k.the Z550A costs 1lakh in thailand.
expect the Z550A to cost around 1.02lakh.
currently though sony has launched the 46inch and 52inch Z550A model in india priced at 1.83lakh for the 46inch expect it to cost less since sony usualy doesn't drop the price until the old stocks are cleared.
do note that sonys real competion is samsung, the samsung 40B750 has a MRP of 1.20lakh where as the Z450a MRP is 1.33lakh,which is the usual sonys premium price tag.so if samsung prices it more agressively sony will also start cutting the prices,it will however still be more expensive then samsung.
