Sony HT-DDW840 and Blu Ray Audio.

Dear All,

If I connect the coaxial output of the Blu Ray Player to the Coaxial Input of the Sony DDW840 Receiver. What type of audio output will I get since the receiver dont support Dolby or DTS HD Sound Format. Will it output standard Dolby / DTS Multichannel Sound ?

Kindly confirm.

coaxial will only support standard dts/dolby not hd. For HD audio you will need to use hdmi.

To enjoy Hd Audio in this system of yours you need HDMI (if your Reciever is equiped) connection from your BD player to your AVR and then let your player decode the HD AUDIO for you and send it via HDMI as Multi Channel PCM for you to enjoy.
