Speaker Designers Needed.

Lovely design. There is nothing wrong with MTM as long as you sit and listen to your music. Horizontal listener movement is also fine to some extent. Is this an existing design or one that you made ?
Thanks for the kind words :)

The outer sketch is all original and is mine. I made it using a software called "Sketchup". I used the same software and designed my interiors a few years back. So not much of a learning curve involved in sketching my ideas up.

But I dont have any acoustic designing chops sadly. So it is mostly a poached design from other designs, in bits and peices. For example, the upper and lower mid bass cabinet are copies from Mr.Troelsgravesen's "Jenzen -Accu design ". I slightly modified the internal volume to reduce the bulk, reducing it from around 23L net to 17L net. But the front baffle remains untouched and is as per his original design. So it is probably an inspired design, if not an outright copy ;). But will be a frankenstein speaker if built with borrowed bits and peices 😅😇.

Below is Mr.Troel's original design, so one can spot the similarities.

The design (core design) seems to be very similar to the Acoustic Portrait reference system. I have heard them so many times and it is a fantastic approach. The difference is mostly with the smaller midrange drivers flanking the tweeters. See those speakers here in the video.
Thanks.....that was the whole idea. To use a pair of small 50mm upper mid range domes for the transition from a 6.5 inch mid bass to a ribbon tweeter. So it ended being a MTM in the end.

Nice. I always loved his designs. I presume you made a lot of changes when you changed the volume to 17L. Reducing a ported MTM enclosure from 23 L to 17 L mainly affects the low-frequency alignment rather than the MTM geometry itself. The most important things to watch are the port tuning and air velocity, since the smaller volume will naturally push the tuning up and can introduce a mid-bass hump or higher excursion if the original port is left unchanged. It’s also worth checking the tonal balance, as the bass reduction can make the speaker sound leaner or more forward, which may call for small voicing tweaks .. the bass alignment and system balance are where any unintended side effects are most likely to show up.

Thanks....Yeah Iam hoping that Iam not changing the port tuning too much. In his original design the port is tuned to 40hz. And I intend to high pass this cabinet at 150 or 200hz, and low pass at 1100 or 1200hz. So hoping that the change in volume doesnt bring the port into play. This is only the mid bass cabinet. The 50mm drivers and ribbon tweeter are outside this cabinet on separate and isolated baffle. The lower bass cabinet is also separate and a 52 ltr sealed unit. I designed everythng separate, so that i can change that single bit if i goofup with non my existing acoustic design skills. As this entire setup will be run active, Iam hoping that I can make amends in the crossover for any goofups in my design and implementation.
