Audition A5 in recent road show @ Westin, Pune
my comparison was A5 and Arita...
tried few tracks back and forth by auditioning both these speaker

as per my personal likings opinion I choose A5 over Arita
has anybody audition A5 before and if wants to share his experience that may help me to choose either one

Thanks,
~VijayK

vijay, I have not auditioned either. But I would like to know what you liked about the A5 over the Arita? What music do you listen to?

Sorry I oversight on mentioning that...
Most of the time I'm Jazz lover, I do listen Indian and Western classic sometime

Whatever I mentioned above is at the low volume or you can say not loud volume :)

I have heard spendors before, not the specific model you mentioned and they sounded excellent for jazz. No experience with the cadence. btw what is the msrp on the spendors?
cheers

The A5 and the A6 are lovely speakers excellent for jazz and vocals. They would definitely be better all round speakers than Arita although the Aritas when paired with the VA1 and sound brilliant with the same genres of music.

Have not heard them together so would be interested in the comparison by Vijayk. I too would be interested in the price for A5 in India.

As per many reviews, the A6 (and not the A5) is supposed to be the real deal.

I have not heard the Arita but I had an Anina as a loaner from Cadence for three weeks when my Amayas were being repaired in the factory. Driven by Cadence's own amp VA-1, I guess the Arita will be quite good. Like any other manufacturer, Cadence would design the Arita to match their own amp. But driven by a lesser amp, I don't think it will sound as good. Since you are in Pune, why don't you request and audition from Cadence? You can talk to Mr Amba (9823377547).

And further, if you are interested in Cadence, you ought to look at their hybrids (electrostatic + electrodynamic) models like Anina or Avita and not the pure electrodynamic model like Arita. After all, Cadence gained acclaim for their hybrids.

Spendor price is in India

There are older models in stock though I did not audition (planning by this weekend) 12 % discount on below MRP is offer by Mr Dave (Cadence)

Hi Vijay,
Nice pics. Which model is the huge 3-tiered floorstander? I can see that it has the trademark Cadence electrostatic panel, a small box below it having what looks like a 6-7 inch driver, and the main box having what looks like a 15-16 inch driver, with a front-firing port below. Is it a new Cadence?

And how about the transparent box?

Please enlighten.

Last Friday spend about 3 hours @ Cadence demo room
Mr Dave and forum member Swapnil (Pune) was with me

we audition Spendor S5e, S6e and Cadence Arita and Arca (Hybrid)
all 4 speaker were hook onto my kit (Music Hall CDP, NAD 320BEE)

me and Swapnil like performance of S6e and Arca (though its not in my budget) The entire 3 hour audition was happening over backup due to sudden power shortage... thanks to Mr Dave who really help me out of the way

well this 3 hours audition motivates to another audition this Friday :)
this time I'm going to keep my eye only on S6e and Avita...
Avita which looks pretty same like Arca (price: about 1.5L) and I'm thinking of starch my budget if I like.
Yes I do agree that my NAD will sweat a lot with Avita hence need upgrade, well I will prefer to start another thread on this after my final decision

Folks please allow me to post few more lines by this Friday late evening.

Thanks,
~VijayK
