step down transformer: ipod dock

I bought an iPod dock with bookshelf from USA. It is rated at 33W, 120V, 60Hz AC? Looks like any 0.5 amp step down transformer would be enough. Should I get something custom done or something off the shelf in electrical shop next door will work. Sorry if this all sounds simple but I want to be sure and don't want to burn a new system.

An of the shelf 240V AC to 120V AC 0.5 amp step down transformer will work.

Depending upon how much the iPod dock cost- you may also want to invest in a surge protector

Also check the off load and on load voltages of the transformer output before connecting.
