Hi,
My Taga SW10 V.2. purchased on 10/10/16 from Mz Audio Distributions is not powering on .
The indicator at the back remains off . It gives a click sound from inside on switching on or off.

I saw some electricity fluctuation before this happen. The subwoofer is directly connected to power socket and there is no surge protector .

Can someone help ? do it have any fuse that I can check?

Regards
Ankur

I understand the indicators are not turning on.. But have you checked whether the sub is functioning (or) not ?..

Please contact MZ Audio for an authrorised service center contact in your city.. Talk to them over phone for help..

I too own the Taga SW 10 v.2, let me check if it has any fuse provision..

I see that sub is actually working. but i am unable to find out if performance is same or decreased. is it a possibility that only indicator is not working?

Precisely the reason, i had requested you to check.. I have two subs.. On one of the sub, the indicator light glows sometimes, sometimes it doesn't.. Being summer, there is low voltage in my rural area.. But sub works all the time & i have checked it.. So no issues there except indicator..

Please take the Sub to the nearest service center in your city for troubleshooting. Possibly, the problem may be a trivial one as the chances are that one of the components in the circuitry would have been spoilt due to electrical short circuit. Since your product is out of warranty, check if the fuse are intact on the back and then explore other action plans.

**** Response from TAGA Support **********

Hello Mr.Ankur,

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with our subwoofer.

This LED indicates that the subwoofer is powered and operating so please do not worry it has no influence on safety, operation or sound performance.

After checking our records I have to admit that we have never had any problems with this LED.
We suspect that the LED maybe faulty or the LED’s feet are disconnected from the board due to cold soldering or loose contact.
If you want to have it checked please contact our distributor in India but as mentioned there is nothing to worry about.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Should you require additional information or assistance please contact us again at a time convenient to you, we will be delighted to help in any way we can.

Best Regards,
TAGA Harmony Support Team

Issue again. The indicator came back itself and sub worked okay till yesterday. Now I see that indicator is fine but sub is not working. Any thought? I am not sure if it is issue with AVR or sub. Any way to check that?

Guess, it isn't an issue with AVR.. Did you change any speaker settings in AVR? (or) change anything on subwoofer crossover knob?..

It could be any one of this things...

1. Subwoofer cable challenge.....try using another one...borrow from a friend and check...

2. It could be dry solder issue on the pcb which is causing this......get it checked...

3. Try a different power outlet which guarantees continuous proper electric supply

Keep crossover and volume knob to 50% and remove the rca cable in one end where you connect AVR.and touch the tip of rca cable(mid point pin) like tapping/triggering feel .you should able to hear some sort of response from sub .If your sub is not giving output/response No need to check avr side imo.Its clear again, your Sub is malfunctioning.May be you can try keeping for 75% of volume and cross over knob and try once again with gentle tapping on the tip of rca cable.Remember first you have try with 25- 50%of volume only to avoid big bammmm.
Above suggestion given based on assumption that you have good new rca cable in hand

Thanks reachkalyan.kr , efernand1. Nothing seems to work. it used to give a thud on power on. No sound now and the cable touch also is silent. I probably will have to get it checked.

Do anyone know someone near Viman nagar in Pune to get the sub checked?

If it is within warranty, check with MZ audio for authorised dealer in your city.. If it is out of warranty, find a car audio installer near your home & they should also be able to identify if it is simple issue.. At-least saves you the hassles of shipping heavy items..

@elangoas - Which one is better TSW-200 or sw-10 v2? Being a 10", the former is lesser expensive, so bit confused

I can't say for sure as i haven't heard TSW 200.. Platinum series is higher to that of TSW series.. I have dual Sw-10 v.2 for more than a years time and happy with it.. TSW should be equally good..

Whatz your budget for sub?

Thanks... I have not yet decided... Still thinking whether to spend 50k+ on SVS 1000, or a less expensive dual sub like Taga ......

TSW is a 12 inch ported sub.. While SW-10 v.2 is a 10 inch ported model.. Since dual subs are better than single sub, with your budget, you should look for dual subs..

Thank you... which one you suggest - SW-10 or TSW as both are almost in same price range? Or will it make a very huge difference if I spend on one SVS, the cost of two Taga subs?
