Guys I need help!!!

I got my HD STB today. Called up CC to install and activate. Which they say will only be done by 16th. I couldn't wait till then, hence installed it my self.

As of now, It is picking up the sattelite signal and menu screen is visible on screen. But none of the channels have been activated yet. Called up CC again and informed them about the situation and asked them if they could activate the same. They have informed me that their engineer need to come to my place to activate it from their backend.

My question is that, is there anyway in which i can do this on my own as i can't wait for the engineer?

I got my box on last 24th and the engineer installed it on the next day. The installation process is very simple if you are an existing customer. But we wont be able receive the HD channels until they activate it from their remote tech center.

In my case they said it will be activated within 24 hrs. So I have been calling the customer care during this 24 hrs to get it activated at the earliest. But they have been giving the same reply and nothing happened even when it crossed 24 hrs. So I called the CC again , and asked why it was not activated yet.

This time the female who attended my call said that it might take another 48hrs. I just lost it and blasted her left and right, and she patched me to some superior guy, he too got his share from me. But he told that he will make sure to activate it immediately. Within 5 minutes I hangup the call my HD channels are active.
 
Got my TS HD finally installed/activated :) ..looking forward to tonight's wc match.

Here is hw i got there :) - Called up TS on Monday ..was told - you can only book it direct and boxes would not be delivered to dealers unless all direct orders are fulfilled. Placed an order. Thursday- get a call from dealer that he has 3 HD boxes. called up TS to cancel my order as i can pick up the box from dealer ..was "promised" that it would be delivered by saturday afternoon-100%. Saturday/today - no call till 3 ..called up TS and blasted them for false promise and threatened to sue them :) ..lady says cannot do much. Got a call in evening from TS engg. that he cannot deliver before sunday..went to his place myself and picked up the box..he explained the procedure ..installed n activated ..called up TS and insisted that they add HD right away..and it worked :) (thanks to the tip frm folks on this forum)..finally all set . PHEW

Guys did anyone experience the problem in audio of ESPN HD during world cup closing ceremony?And these guys din show the presentation ceremony also in HD. and ESPN HD(channel 415) is already removed from the list.:mad:
 
Yup, I too experienced the audio problem during the finals and that when it mattered the most @ Shakira show

But the video quality is simply awesome!
 
Ya, the audio problem was there at the closing ceremony on TataSky HD. The same audio problem was there on AirTel HD as well but the AirTel users got to see the presentation ceremony in HD!

checked and rechecked with the customer care. they wouldn't budge. If I have to upgrade my package, then I would need to pay for the package the entire amount and not pro-rata. Which will make me a loss of Rs.400 which I feel is not fair
 
Have you guys noticed that we seem to be getting only fractions of some shows on the HD channels, not the full show. And they keep repeating. They have already repeated few of those shows hundred times I guess. Once, I saw something with some cool Mexican pyramids in it, and the exact same thing repeated 1.5 hrs later on the same day.. and every day after that. Quite pathetic actually. Some of the shows are only like 5-10 mintues long.
 
now that the games are over .. i guess you better wait if you dont have it yet..im told reason tata sky gave free hd gold to existing subscribers was becasue they are not gonna add any more channnels for the next one year because permission issues from the government.. i hope they show champions league in hd though .. which might be a good enough reason to know what to expect in the ICC cricket world cup
