Tata Sky sued for misleading subscribers!

I hope their license get's cancelled, and they're forced to pay the fine or refund the money to customers. They're looting Indians. I don't understand what goes wrong with these companies when the enter Indian market. I guess its the loopholes in our laws :argue:

This reminds me of Reliance BigFlix which literally robbed all the subscription money and stopped DVD service commiting that they will provide 75 DVDs one time as settlement which never came. Instead they gave 1 yr subscription to Bigflix+ which is online streaming service and comes at the expense of your ISP bandwidth.

Reliance is another fraud company

I had a Bigflix subscription a couple of years ago. I cancelled and was told i would get back the initial security deposit. They said it would be a few weeks before my money would be returned. I forgot about it until a few months later when i was shocked to know that their DVD service no longer existed. I never got back my money.

Who gets the fine money?
So, Tata Sky robs its customers and the governing body robs Tata sky?
Where is the customer getting his money?

Not exactly the same topic.. But just wondering.. I pay for the subscription.. I pay for the set top box.. I pay for HD channels.. I pay for sd channels.. Why the hell do I get the Airtel advertisements whenever I change a channel.. Why is there a advertising logo on the bottom right of my screen.. I'm waiting for rmwcs's reply.. He seems to be well versed in handling these idiot corporate mafia.. Anyone else pissed at this?

I remember the days where the cable subscription was Rs. 200 and every extra Tv was Rs. 50. The movie channels were a bonus. Also rain did not have an effect on the signal of the cable. Now for 4 Tvs in a house expect to pay about a 1000-1200 Rs. Per month and this figure increases by 10-15% every year.

You pay for the newspaper but you get advertisements for free. :ohyeah:

Regarding the "pay channel", in a layman's terms its seems that when we pay for a channel it becomes pay channel, and when not its a free-to-air channel.

FTA channels are supposed to earn revenue through advertisements, which pay channels will earn revenue through subscriptions.

But I am not sure what the term 'pay channel' is defined under the provisions of law. So cannot really comment right now, but will look into it.
