The Objective DAC is Here!

finally got the output from the line in :clapping: .. still have to get output from the headphone out .. tho

If you meant headphone out on the ODAC, then I am afraid as per the JDS labs info you can either use its line-out or headphone out and not both.

as per JDS Labs info, there is no headphone out. It is a line out, with a 3.5mm jack socket; the RCA sockets are actually an optional extra.

They say not to use it as a headphone out. I know that at least one member here has done. I wonder what are the technical aspects of this?

Yes Thad, I stand corrected. Its actually the 3.5mm jack or RCA line-out can be used and not a headphone out. They have the O2 which is the dedicated headphone amp.

finally got it working :yahoo: .. The o2 odac Amp combo needs an AC to AC adapter . Is there some place where i can order AC to AC adapters as I blew mine off and using a spare one now ..

I assume that in both cases suggestion given by esteemed FM helped you. Or you got it working by making some other changes too? Please elaborate.

Hi Problems where as follows -

USB connector had come off .. FMs suggested to go to a TV repair guy to solder a connector . Followed that to get the amp in a working condition.

Sound output was not coming even with the PC detecting the amp . FM suggested to change setting to selected odac as default device in sound panel. After this sound was coming through Line in (but not thru headphone out).

Changed the power AC->DC Adapter to a AC-> AC adapter after which sound started coming out through the headphone out .(this was via mail to JDS labs support)

All this would have not been possible without the support from members as I am not a electronics guy even in the remote sense.

Yes, it requires at-least 14 V AC and Max 20V AC.

Thanks,
Bibin

yes seems like it has started singing now .. after the break in ..
Listened to dire straits sultans of swing .. the cymbals seem be pronounced and crisp.. the amp doesnt add any color and just reproduces clean sound.

the mains now have stopped working .. after around 6 months .. i think there are some issues with this amp .. any other FMs having issues ?
