Thanks for giving me a different perspective to enabling "Donor Member" title.

I had made a small contribution towards HFV a few days back, but was somehow not comfortable with the title "Donor Member" displayed against my name/handle. So, when I saw Vinay's post today, I discussed with him offline and he encouraged me to enable the title as it would inspire others too. A different POV from what I was initially thinking, but made sense to me, so enabled it:).

Would the person who wins this bid (likely Suri or Capt.Rajesh), also become donors along with Vinay? I think they are also donors because their purpose of bidding was just not acquiring the product.

Another question stems from curiosity is,
Would this bid make Vinay the highest contributed person so far? If not, who has contributed (monetarily) the maximum to this forum?

Contribution should not be made public, its the generosity of the people which should be appreciated.

tharun....ya the Contribution should not be made public.............but the list of persons with ranks can be published.............what others says?
 
HFV appreciates members who donate and adds the title 'Donor Member' under the id. This can be seen every time the member makes a post.

In the case of Vinay and the winner, we have to see who will get the title. Maybe both?

IMHO, I suggest that Vinay can be given the title "donor member" as long as he has membership with Hifivision and the person who wins the bid and makes the donation to hifivision can have the "title" for a limited period of time, as the case may be or if possible, both can have the permanent title.

Because I feel Vinay is the man who literally set the ball rolling and is an inspiration for others, I feel he deserves the permanent title or "home theatre specialist". I am sure viewers of this thread will certainly come forward with their donations and hope we can lot of donor members in the long run.....

Just a thought, can we have titles for senior members like "home theatre specialist", "stereo guru", "video guru," "acoustic guru," "gadget guru," etc.?

I say both Vinay and the winning bidder get teh Donor title. In my view they have equally contributed to the "cause" disregarding an attempt to get VFM as the price is already past the real cost of the player in the current day.

Thanks Suri, your pet is so cute!!. Was that a speaker built by you for your pet (seeing the height, tweeter is at dog's ear level etc)? Your dog does likes to listen on-axis eh?

It was gathering dust in the attic in the kennel. His pet only listens to the Witches of Ecstacy these days:).

You are right, it is HMV style. I realised only now.
