I would like to pay back this forum by accepting few requests to get things from Singapore.

I'm leaving on this weekend and will return in first week of June. Needless to say, i don't charge anything extra and can't get heavy weight things.

I stay in Madhapur, Hyderabad, so Hyderabadis can ping me if interested.

Also, suggest me, what best things to get from Singapore as I'm clue less.

That's so nice of you Krishpiscean! Though I don't have anything to get from Singapore, I can suggest a few according to your taste like audio/video/phone/handheld gadgets or your current Audio / HT setup etc.

One thing I can suggest outright is, you should be able to find bluray movie titles at better rates in singapore.

Very nice of you to offer. :clapping:

Maybe a dozen banana plugs and spades would be "light" enough to carry back? :licklips:
Each member can pay for the local shipping but that means work for you in making 12 packages.

not going to be a popular suggestion but -
why don't you have every member who is interested in getting something pay a bit more for it (a few % more) and give the difference to hifivision, if you want to give back, also give back to support the infrastructure and running costs.

thanks

Hi,

That is very generous of you.

I'm testing waters of vinyl sound and have acquired two TTs, a Garrard and a Dual. Both need a cartridge. In addition, the Garrard also requires an idler wheel. I'm not sure if idler wheel would be available there but I'm, sure you'd get cartridges there. Could I request you to get me a shure cartridge and stylus?

Regards

Hi
I think you should check the prices locally before thinking Singapore could be cheap, all electronics are available at Sim Lim Towers, Serangoon Road
Anyway this is a wonderful gesture
Bon Voyage

@krishpiscean I'm interested in few things from Singapore :p
It would be gr8 if u can PM me ur mobile no. :)

Krish, that is a very generous offer --- do be careful that you don't land yourself with excess baggage charges and customs duty!

Two of the locations that you should visit in Singapore are Sim Lim Square and The Adelphi --- which is across the road from the back (? depends which way yu are looking, I suppose) side of Funan Digital Mall. Funan is worth a look, too.

Yeah! Better you pay back in cash and play safe. What time are you opening the counter? All HFVision'ers will be there :ohyeah: :)

Hi krishpiscean!

Thats a very nice gesture... Thanks to you for that...
Wish we could all do that... but the more you stay on the forum the more your laundry list increases and eventually once always has some or the other thing to buy from US/ Singapore....

But its still a nice gesture....
I am currently looking for speakers but I am sure they will be in the list of HEAVY items prohibited by you....

How about a PS3? Is it cheaper than in India?

Captain, I have no clue what you are talking abt...I'm still at the nascent stage of home theaters. May be, tell what to be purchased, weight and size. Also, I'm from Hyd and won't be delivering to CHN.

Yes, BDs is something i'm looking forward. This is where I can take maximum requests as they are not heavy.

Very nice of you but Singapore market right now is sometimes more expensive than India.........most products are now available in India almost at the same price or sometimes a little less.........try bangkok.....

Good idea. Any BD requests, ping me.

Is 5% extra on each item, a good amount for forum maintainance ?

Hi,

The item I was mentioning is a component of turntable. Stylus is the needle that runs through the grooves of the record and cartridge is the one that picks up the vibrations of the needle and converts them into electrical signal. The size would be about 1.5 inches X 1 inch and weighs a few grams. It costs a couple of thousand rupees.

It can be ordered over the net and delivered but I've had couple of bad experiences with these courier guys and hence held my horses to date. My cousin stays in Singapore but is a true jet setter. Never know when he comes and goes; Like a tsunami.:ohyeah:

AFA delivery is concerned, I can have it collected or come to Hyd even. It is after all my home town. I do not wish to inconvenience you at all; Take up my request only if it suits you.

Regards

I think the WD TV LIVE HUB is slightly cheeper there in singapore (atleast in SLS). If you dont own any MP atm you can get it (or a better one about which i dont have any idea ;) ) Just a suggestion....
