what is 10A part inside Iron?

Any body knows waht is this component

No. 10A ,240v inside a cloth iron


story is like this ...
At my real home at native place, house hold a orpat iron stopped working.
My mom telling that there is a resistor like round part
with
No. 10A ,240v gone bad acc. to mechanic that part is un -available .

Any one knows what it is ?
So that i can ship one from here .
 
10A meens 10ampere.

It is not that easy .. 10Amps (current rating)is written on a fuse that is not a fuse as 240V is written

I suspect it is a capacitor ,but still cant figure out wht is the use ..google is also not giving any hint of usage of capacitor with iron.

That is the rotary temp regulator (adjustable thermostat) with the contacts rated at 10A/240V. It is an electro-mechanical device and should be available readily.
