Folks,

It's always interesting to know what is happening in each other's workshop. So thought of opening this thread to share, current status of projects in our workshops.

Let me start with mine

My Hifi-Racks in the making. They are 4 individuals tables. The legs are set about a inch and a half inside and are 3x3 in thick allowing them to be stacked safely. For extra safety will be sticking rubber padding under the feet to make them non slip. Can be converted to coffee table when not in use :D

Routed edge of a rack. To be sanded, stained and lacquered. Thinking of finishing in a dark colour like mahagony.

Open baffles for a friend.

Record rack in the making.

Please post pictures of your projects in their current status as well.

I have alot of WIP and also a lot of trial and error kind of work.
toooooo embarrassed to share ! :)
so prefer to showcase not so embarressing moments when done.

Your workshop looks good!

My workshop isn't actually a workshop. I find either my open terrace or the staircase landing more suitable for my work. ......And these're the places I'm usually get kicked out to. Here we go for my pictures.

Actually, this is my first DIY build. I've chosen Bijin's SR10DT & M16GJ build for this one. And it has turned out to be a floor stander.

All the gaps have been woodsaw/fevicol mix pasted and on top of it, silicon gelled.

Burn-in in an open baffle kind of set up

And this is where the xo is gonna be.

Edit: I tried to upload the images through flickr. Somehow they aren't showing up. Hence, I'm posting the links. Hope they aren't doubled up.

Edit ver 2.0: I've got it figured out somehow

Cheers!

Wherever I get to work is my workshop. It is infact my terrace, i had some sheets put on top so that I can have some shade to work in the summer.

Looks awesome for a first build. They are looking really tall for 4', I guess its the angle in which they have been photographed. (Camera Trick!)

You might want to try the JE Labs open baffle it is very very simple to make, but not sure if the drivers will be suitable. Do give it a shot you never know.

I use postimage.org, its free and easy.

A cool conversion!

Thanks for the compliment. It must be the design & the designer (Bijin), I guess. I've gathered quite a lot of insight into these builds from various forums (or fora for plural?) and blogs like that one of tcpip. Credit should go to them only!:clapping:

May be, there is nothing else in these pictures to give a perspective. I must have shot only the cabs for the entire breadth and width of the frame. Other than that, there is no camera trick involved.

Thanks for the input. It's new to me & I'll try it too.

Thought of using it too when I was struggling with flickr. However, I've managed to get it right with flickr itself

Further Progress

The record rack has been completed. Have to remove the alignment nails and clean with turpentine for a neat glossy finish.

Rack-1 with level 1 staining finished, gives it a teak wood kind of look. Going for 3 levels for a dark Walnut / Mahogany finish.

rack-2 at level 1, Racks 3 and 4 done with 2 rounds of staining and putty and sanding and left to dry overnight (sorry forgot to click pictures after round 2).

Will be back tomorrow with project completed pictures.
