I find many posts here misleading.

I presume the query is which BLU RAY player is region free for Blu rays and not for DVDs.
None of the above mentioned blu ray players are regeion free for blu rays, though most of them are already free for dvd.
Except Oppo which is true region free.

Hi all,

Can someone suggest any region free 3D bluray player within 20k? Below are my requirements explained

1.) Region free 3D bluray player - IMPORTANT
2.) less than 20k INR
3.) HDD support or playing movies via HDD is not that important to me as i will be getting a seperate Media player for this purpose.
4.) I live in chennai (India). so should be possible to purchase here either direct or online.

Note: If there is any bluray player and media player combo with 3d support which is also region free then please suggest same.

I havent checked it personally, but ordered one Toshiba bdx3100 for 6.6K by using SYW from amazon.co.uk. Its yet to reach me.. Expected date of delivery is between 25th and 27th of this month..

Once i get hold of it, will check it personally and confirm to you..

I am sorry.. But for some reason my search didnt show that thread. May be the keywords were not enough.. :sad:

For all guys, I am now seriously need to reconsider whether region free is that much important to me. Because, I donot have anyone to purchase a BD movie from US. I would be mostly buying bluray (including 3D) from local shops for hollywood and bollywood movies or will be using flipkart. As far as tamil movies bluray go it is always region free disks so can be played in any region players (I would be getting these thro online since tamil bluray is not yet authorised to be sold in india). Now please tell me do i still need to get a region free player??

I will be purchasing LG 42LW4500 or 42LW5600.. Therefore, I am considering to get LG BE670 or LG BX580.. What you say..??

Guys.... the Sherwood BDP-5004 is an excellent region-free player. I am using mine for the past 11 months (no problems whatsoever).

Incidently I have been out of touch on this forum for quite some time so I do not know whether the above player is still in favor of all the folks out here

Still waiting... SYW service is very worst... They are extending the date of delivery each time when i chat with them.. Now they want me to wait till 16th of this month...

Ordered on 30th Dec 2011.. Now 1 month passed... Still they r telling lame excuses...
