General query I ordered thru hdfc 12 months emi and Rs.102452.72 was charged on my credit card. I understand that as I continue to pay 15% for the entire period of 12 months I'd end up paying 120000. But what if I foreclose and pay the bank upfront? Anyone has any experience?

I ended up paying 103789 in total for the TV. For all those who want to buy, I urge to use the EMI option and then pay up front by preclosing

You made the purchase from mi.com or flipkart? I plan to get it from mi home local store and will use HDFC emi option if foreclosing the loan get's me interest as discount. But I am not sure how the no cost emi works when card is swiped in store purchase. I have heard from fm that they give interest charge as cashback after few months.

I know you're with me but Whether they can be taken to task in a court of law is another thing. A buyer who is parting with their hard earned money is supposed to exercise reasonable diligence.

But ask yourself (and as exemplified by another thread that i shall not name but feel free to browse around), how many people do? You may be prudent and/or may know what are the specs that need to be taken into consideration or for that matter, the questions that are required to be asked but not everybody is well aware of the relevant considerations. Very few people are.

If only i had a nickel for every time somebody came while making their purchasing decisions for lack of knowing any better. And that's not just them. After joining this forum, i suppose im much more aware about specs that are required to be taken into consideration. But then again, most people aren't a part of this forum.

Considering a company that is as big as Xiaomi is, it's clearly taking customers for a ride/intentionally indulging in deceptive specs. Does the fact that many other relief companies also aren't forthcoming with their facts gives Xiaomi a concession? I think not.

If one wants more power to the customers, one should not condone such tactics. I am from the service industry and there are many ways i can make a killing without the customer knowing any better depending on the disclosures that i make. And to my mind, this is a disclosure that was required to be made in bold and simply speaks volumes about the bonafides of the company (or whoever the marketing genius responsible for this was as are many other specs in the AV industry including that of THD).

But mostly, consider this - rather than it being a part of the "disclaimer", should it not have been disclosed in the "Specifications" itself?

The consumer society we have become is quite a reflection of created demand: make people feel bad about not having x, and see how owning it will dramatically change your life.

And, most of it is associated with non-essentials!

Yes, 4k 120 not possible due to the mediatek processor not able to decode it. That said, you can still play at 120hz at 1080p or 1440p at 10 bit depth which is exactly what these next gen consoles will do.
FYI : Not even LG CX can do 4k 120 DV or the 900h.

I agree it's not right to do so, at least their global website has a * near 120hz and explains it in the bottom so it's a little better where as in Indian website there's no such thing, it's just written in overview section on the bottom of the page in such a small Font size that hardly anyone would notice.

Sadly these type of marketing doesn't stop with this brand or with this category, it's everywhere these days and they can't be legally held for it so they continue to keep doing it. Also it was discussed in this thread a while back so I hope most people who bought it in this forum knew about it before they decided.

Xiaomi is notorious for changing panel of their TVs. I think the current 800-900 nits display will be changed to 400-450 nits real soon.
Even Xiaomi mentioned the same on their European website that panel can have only 500 nits too.

That will be quite a bummer. If the panel is changed to the lower nits one, then the shiny latest toy will be reduced to a caricature of itself.

I don't think so, 500 nits is for minimum brightness and I don't think they could just change the panel like that. Do share where they've done it before.

People won't notice actually. If it becomes 450 nits then most Indians will get same brightness in SDR as 800 nits panel. Therefore they will never know.

Indian units will have made in India panels and not the European ones. The reviewers always get better units than what customers get. I think everyone in this forum knows this .

Is that the reason why this is not available easily? Basically, they are not just selling it. It was available on FK for just 2 Hrs, and on MI its simply not deliverable.

No, for now it's due to covid and logistics issue. 75 will never sell like 55 inch. 75 takers are very less in India. But change of panel will happen after influencers are done with TV. The recently launched Redmi x65 has different panels from 5-6 companies and they differ a lot.
Similarly mi tv 4 had 450 nits on reviewer unit and just 220 nits for normal Indians, while Indians on this forum were expecting it to have 800 nits.
