Hi,

This may seem bit off the topic :indifferent14: ! but its the general Yamaha Pricing that I wish talk bout !

Yamaha's way of destruction !! the company offcourse !!

Why else will anyone pay 20K (which was sold for 10K+ in grey and 13+ with bill ) of their hard earned money on a BullSh*** 5Ch 40+Watt AVR ?? when the similar kind of products from Marantz and Denon is available for 6K or so less !! if you talk bout Onkyo their entry level AVR is a 7ch at 21K ( stand alone AVR not the HT package AVR) !! and also Onkyo still sells the 5.1 HT package at 18K with a decent AVR (Quality of which is equal to 363 if not better ) and 6 Speakers !

To add insult to injury,Yamaha has replaced their 6ch (459) with 461 (now 463) and also has stopped using Mosfets in their basic models (now all the models are STK based ) !!

All this inspite of Yamaha setting up a wholly owned subsidiary in India and having opened an office in the north !!

Its but natural to understand that if a product costs more if it has to pass distributors and dealer hands before coming to end user ! but this is ridiculous !!

When I spoke to the Yamaha guys and the Distributor at the recently held expo in Blr,they say its due to Re's devaluation ! but is this devaluation only limited to Yamaha and not others ?? coz hardly other companies have raised 10% (not on all but on limited models) !

Anyways I strongly suggest against Yamaha now ! Please don't heed to their greediness and loose out !

Hope I've not offended anyone !

Regards.

Added teh Yamaha guys unlike the Onkyo or even Mordaun Short never get back to you. Prices were always on the higher side. I specifically checked with Vijay Sales (who are distributors of the Yamaha in Pune) - the 363 and 463 were available in 16k and 22k respectively. The 663 has a price of 41k when i last spoke to them in Jan. In March when i spoke to them again the prices were up to 52k. Why bother goign for Yamaha - i settled for Onkyo.

These guys had promised be the Onkyo for 33k earlier and even though the prices were increased (actually it did - sumaria did not change the prices and its at 40k now minus discounts) - i got it for 36k. Although i would have preferred the 863 anyday for 55-60k, the quoted price of 80k inMarch 1st week put me off Yamah completely. Plus that they never respond and could not even have a demo unit in Pune somewhere which i could audition.

chennai members will be useful by this offer price to buy yamaha at this price, but its only a limited period. so, get your offer quickly before it ends.
