Hey Guys, today I just purchased the RXV 667 for USD 440 from the Caribbean with 120/240V switichable, yep im happy, yes only the weight will kill me and the custom officers,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

120/240 V Switchable....Awesome..Please share d details...from where did u purchase...

As I said, got it in the Carrebian, St. Marteen, thats in island belonging to the USA but is tax free....:yahoo:

Unfortunately it is still box packed as Im waiting to come down to India in June and then will purchase the speakers from India,,, stoll not sure which speakers will go best with the AV... Was looking at DefTeck 8040, has an inbuilt active sub of 300w in each of the towers, since the yamaha supports 2 subs will it be a good choice and match with the 667??/ Price on GEB is around 61k for each tower.. are there any dealers for DefTech in India??

Is there any way to avoid customs if someone is bringing the 667 from the US?? or maybe show it as used or as a gift??

I think,if you get AVR without box,you can get 20k item duty free(max 25k allowed I suppose). Can carry bill if any problem to tell exact item price.Sometime if plain gets delyaed, custom may not hold you.

Amazon is running a great offer for the Harman Kardon HKTS 20BQ 5.1 speaker system and Yamaha RX-V667 for only 699 USD. Both have great reviews. I am in USA currently and will be coming to Kolkata next month and plan to take the combo with me (my wife will be with me and our combined Airline luggage limit should be enough to handle the weight limit). Also with my prior experiences Kolkata Customs should not create any major issues.

Actually recently I had purchased the Sony Ht-SS370 (sounds ok) from Costco for 220 USD to carry with me to India. However the Amazon deal seems to be great and I am inclined towards returning the Sony back to Costco (Costco has the best return policy in USA BTW). Now do you think that Yamaha-HK combo is really worth the 3 times the price of the Sony HTIB?
