Hi Gurus,

I am new to this forum and new to the world of PJs. Keeping the future in mind i want to go for a entry level 1080p PJ. Can some one suggest me some entry level 1080p PJs. My search has boiled down to View Sonic PJD7820, Benq W1070 and Optoma HD25e.

Please suggest me way ahead. Plan to go for it as soon i get some clarity.

Benq and Optoma are based on DLP technology which in entry level there can be rainbow affect.. so have demo before purchasing.. atleast for 20 mins with fast moving scenes...

or to be safer side you can go for Epson Home Cinema 2000 PJs which are LCD based and free from rainbow affect.

Thanks for the info. I am now confused in the investment into PJs between optoma HD25e and the very very successful Acer h5370bd. Looking in the future as every channel/ movie is movie towards full HD will it be wise to invest in a 1080p PJ which costs double than a 720p PJ. I am getting a optoma HD25e at 70k in India. Please advise.

Go with Epson Tw5200 1080p Full HD 3D which is a dedicated HT pj. In Kolkata it costs around 77k all.

Hi Sanjay, Can you share Kolkata dealer contact or any dealer from Hyderabad. 77K is a good price to buy as it is inclusive of taxes

Hi,

I will be ordering a PJ over this weekend. Need serious help from the forum as to which one to finally go for.

Acer H6510BD
Optoma HD131xe

Please help me in finalising one as my requirements are 1080p with good 3D and little rainbow effects.

Help !!

I am in similar situation as of you. 1070 has gone to 899 USD and Optoma HD131/Acer are on lesser side of 720USD.

Between Acer and Optoma I would suggest Optoma coz it offers better PQ, contrast, color, black levels. If you want 2D to 3D conversion then Acer.

I am not sure of service for both Acer and Optoma in India. Benq support I am confident of though.

In my case I am unsure if I should go for 720p Acer 5370 (450USD) or stretch (read double) my budget for a 1080p projector. If I can afford I would go and pick 1070 as its a no brainer on this side of 1K USD. I am short of Vit M as of date due to other priorities and would also need to buy 25ft cable, atleast 2 pair of 3D glasses in addition to the projector! :(

Not sure if I have helped you or confused you more :)

I am also in same boat, however the confusion is between ACER H5370BD 720P and ACER H6510BD 1080P. Anyway I need to take a decision before last week of March as my friend is travelling back in April. Not much information about the H6510BD one in this forum
@Vishu_fbd - You might have meant 3D glasses in your post and not 2D glasses.

Now the boat seems to go bigger. I have make the same decision as my friend is travelling back in first week of April. Want to go future proof and go for a 1080p. Also note Oppo 103d has caught my attention and also thinking going for it. What's say?

Yeah corrected it:p

If you want to buy 1080p then I would suggest Optoma HD131xe instead of 6510. There is hardly any difference in price BUT performance wise Optoma is comparable to 1070 however the 6510 isnt!

Most of the movies that I have are DVDs or 720p res and very few BDs so I dont think 1080p projector would do justice and the PQ of TS HD isnt 1080p either! Which is where I have inclination towards 5370 in addition to its lower cost. There is a recently launched 5380 as well which is priced 100 USD more than 5370.

Both are DLP and will offer similar picture. I would lean towards Optoma. Acer is known to have problems with projectors one or other. They do not fix the firmware and move on to the next model, leaving owners with buggy projectors.

Friends,
I am using an OPTOMA HD25e & trust me, its a fantastic
Projector. Total VFM product. You won't regret it.
Cheers.
