1080p Entry Level PJ

Acer P1500 1920x1080 FHD 3000 Lumens, HDMI Input; 16:9 Aspect Ratio, 3D Ready DLP Projector for $599.99 in newegg (only till Mar 20th)

Its exactly similar to 6510 just that there is no 2d to 3d conversion in this, thus a good deal for the money!

What is the difference between 3D ready and full 3D? How is it in comparison with the other models like optoma hd131xe and acerh6510bd and benq 1070. Not many reviews out there on the net about acer 01500.

As mentioned by fellow HFV member jsanand and I <quote> -

"First things first Acer H5370BD is a pure play 3D Projector, i.e. if you have 3D content as source - be it a 3D blu ray player playing a 3D movie or a plain jane old laptop running SBS (Side By Side) or HSBS (Half Side By Side) 3D video content, which displays parallel frames targeted for each eye to create 3D effect or any other format, it can be directly projector as 3D by this projector on your screen or your wall...all you need to do is to just switch the 3D mode on the projector, select the right 3D format, wear your 3D DLP glasses and you are ON!

3D Ready projectors on other hand, likes of Acer K330 (which I was eyeing before), need content to be directly streamed to the projector, typically at 120 hz, with overlapped content for an eye being streamed at 60 hz each. So you need decently powered computers, running players like Stereoscopic player, etc. to stream this or a 3D blu ray player. They cannot natively render 3D content and need an external source to do the rendering part while projection of the same to screen/wall is taken care by them." <unquote>

P1500 has only 1 HDMI port and also does not support MHL unlike 5370. The picture quality is similar to 6510 though. 1500 is less impressive in performance than the 131 or 1070 but it also cost less. If you want to go 1080p route I would suggest spend a bit more and buy Optoma or Benq (preferred). You cant get wrong with either OR if money is a concern then buy 5370 (eyes closed).

I ordered 5370 from Amazon today since it suited my requirements and my pocket! :)

Ok, that is one more to the Acer H5370BD club, congrats and enjoy your waiting period by reading the long thread and viewing the pictures :)

The Acer H6510BD 1080p brother of H5370BD is down to $599 at newegg till 19th March.

Looks like really good 1080 entry projector.

Have read it somewhere that the Acer H6510BD has a singal acceptance of only 120Hz and hence there is a flickering problem while watching 3D. is it true if someone member using it please enlighten us.
