Hi again :),

I mean the best towers for this budget in 'audiophile' grade with 3 way drivers of course. I am going to set up super stereo setup soon :licklips:

I have enquired Telome audio for BT-300 is quoted for 30K but I feel little weird on hearing that they use only Indian made drivers(peerless) and components, and how they actually perform?

I have already collected a Sony stereo FM/AM tuner and a DVD player so far.

My expectation is that it should be natural sounding one with tight punchy bass, clean vocal mids and sweet trebles......

I see that loads of better hifi experienced guys are here than me, so you guys can give me your suggestions from your experience and I'm ready to hear(no bookshelves please).....

Cheers!

There are few things to keep in mind,

1) It is not like 3-way is best. Some 2-way can blow the hell out of 3-way speakers
2) There is nothing inferior in using indian made peerless drivers, as they are not bad

Now for suggestions give some more details like

1) Kind of music listened
2) Size of the room
3) If amplifier is already purchased/decided details of the same

This will help our members to suggest better options. Inspite of whatever suggestion/recommendation coming from our fellow members, you need to take audition of different combos before selecting the speakers.

Here are some to start with

Wharfedale Vardus 400 Floorstanding Speaker
Boston Acoustics CS 226 Floorstanding Loudspeaker
Wharfedale Atlantic GE500 Tower (Pair)

Ok, ukjeyaraj I take that suggestion and decided better stick on to BT-300 itself, Made in India :)

I've been doing a slight underground research here and what I found is if you go for more and more research and brandnames you'll get utter confused and can't buy anything :p

Living in Kochi and not sure if I can take an audition of these speakers but according to the reviews I found here, I'm much satisfied already...

Telome told that the matching amp would be their TA-8200(but 100W per channel into what ohms?) and they haven't even mention the correct speaker impedance of BT-300. May be somebody help me out in this.

TA-8200 is quoted for 16K and the other one(TA-8400i) for again 30K, double the price!! I dunno whether it'll make much difference and for my 16x12 roomsize I think the first one is more than sufficient, also why to pay double?

For kind of music I listen to, I'm a very 'traditional' listener more on to malayalam, tamil and bit bollywood metals :D not much classical and western stuff...

I have a plan to pick it directly from Mumbai through train service after going through denom's 'Tears of sorrow' thread, need to plan on this. Suggestions are welcome. For me, it's going to be a long term investment of 50K!

Please put in your suggestions. Cheers!

I have made a similar 3-way FS using the same peerless drivers except the tweeters. Please see the details here

This is our recent project for my brother. We both are in Kochi, and welcome for an audition.

Thanks,

transistor, for the kind of music you listen to, do check out the older Mission M series floorstanders.
And do take up the offer to audition bibins speakers if you can. He could guide you to DIY something to your satisfaction. You could look at the GR Research N3 floorstander kit.
