Speaker cable is a very interesting topic which i'm currently researching on... it's quite debatable as some say any cable will do whereas some say different cables have different sound signature....

what are your findings as yet...?

ohh nice, do u know the DAC used inside Denon DVD-1940?

Presently I am using Supra classic 1.6 speaker cable and it's a great VFM cable, u can try Supra 1.6 or u can also try Supra Classic 2.5.

Hi Friends,

After researching, reading reviews and completing demos over a period of six months starting Sep 2010.... an order for PSb Image B6 + C5 has been placed for my HT setup.

I have to do a 2'nd demo of S5 Bipole vs B5/B6 direct radiating monopole to decide the surrounds as i couldn't decide the first time around which me and my brother liked more. We will be going to lakozy soon to do this.

My sincere thanks goes out to all the members who have helped me with their suggestions, tips and advice of various combinations/setups in completing this journey.

Went for PSB demo along with my brother....

i had carried over my Yamaha RX V450 & my sub svs pc12 nsd for the demo.

i have about 2-3 standard movie scenes which i watch during demo for every speaker. This helps me do a as close a comparison to what i have heard before because the demo material is always the same. I had also requested Ashish to arrange a couple of discs which he dutifully did...

My sincere thanks to Ashish who i found to be very courteous & amiable. All My demo session was close to 5 hours
and he was very patient and professional with his approach specially with someone like me who tends to go into a lot of detail and has a lot of questions. He and his staff was more than happy to keeping changing my the fronts and surrounds as many times i needed which helped me in reaching a conclusion as to what sounded best to my ears.

Update... Added Bipole Surrounds.

I've had my PSB Image setup now for 8 months and it has been serving me well with great performance. A few days ago i upgraded my surrounds to Image S5. These are bipoles. Earlier i was using monopoles Yamaha NX-E130.

Some performance changes that i've noticed with the S5 upgrade.

- The surround info/sound is now more diffuse and more pleasant than earlier. IT just feels more spacious and expansive. Earlier with the monopole when there would be a sound from the side it would draw my attention and many times i would turn towards the speaker. It was quite distracting. Now the same sounds feel more subtle. I know it's coming from the side but i can't pinpoint it's location like before and this is a much more pleasant experience.

- The soundstage also seems to be better now and front to back seems more real and more cohesive. It's a smoother experience.

- I recommend people to try out bipole/dipole designs as these are excellent especially for movie performance due to their diffuse qualities.

Lastly my advice to anyone buying a new 5.1 setup is to demo as many speakers as you can to find out the kind of sound you like. It's a little time consuming but after the purchase every time you switch on your setup it'll bring a big smile on your face.
