Hi,
I'm planning to buy 50" LG PQ70, but comparing with Samsung.

Price:
Can get the price reduced further, while purchasing !

It's for 60,000 at compareindia.in,

but at croma, 68,000 with free portable DVDplayer with small LCD screen (worth MRP of 14000, i guess, it will be about 8000 to purchase from market)

Samsung 50" 4 series (Old model) @ 65000, with free DVD player (USB + HDMI) - Wasn't on display.

but 42" 4 series plasma @ 45,000, picture quality was great.

picture quality:
Couldn't compare them side-by-side. (either 42" or 50")
but individually, both looked great.

But was also thinking, 42" LG PQ70 @ 41000

is 8" of more screen size, worth 19000.

it's 720p, & i think, 50" is gr8, but 42" is also good.

Will go to ezone, to see, if i can compare both samsung & LG, & also 42", 50" of each company.

What do you think guys, about the Models & price ?

Will PS3 games look good on these 720P models, whether 42" or 50" ?

If you can stretch you budget by 10k or so, take a look at the PS50B550.
Well it really doesn't matter between 720p and 1080p for screen sizes of 50" or less, but in a plasma, less the no. of pixels, less bright the screen is, because the pixels are self illuminating. And moreover higher end or Full HD models are usually provided wit better colour reproduction and contrasts, so this might affect the PQ.
Audition a few before deciding.

Hi,
Got a deal from ezone.

50" LG PQ70 @ 57000 + 2 gm gold coin (worth Rs. 2600),

Delivery time 10 days, LCD will directly come from Bombay.

I'm trying to get a Samsung DVD player (H1080R - USB+HDMI Rs. 4200 approx) Free with that too. but the sales man, said it's not possible for him.

I played a divx movie 700MB from my pen-drive, on 50" LG PG61UR, just to see, the quality on a 50" incher, & it looked awesome.
I also played that on 42" LG PQ70, & it was great. (they didn't have 50" LG PQ70 on display.) & also on 42" Full HD scarlet 2.0, & the movie was better on 720P 42" PQ70.

I have given some booking amount, but has also said that, i will cancel the deal, if i get a better deal, elsewhere. after hearing this, he said if you will find a better deal, i will happily refund the amount, & he also said, he can sweeten the deal some more.

U see, he unknowingly himself gave me a hint, that the price can further be reduced, or i can get the DVD player Free too.
obviously i will use this opportunity, to threaten to cancel the deal, and he will give the dvd player free.

I was also thinking of going for Samsung PS50B550 (which is Full HD), & 25000 more costly,
but then i thought, even after spending 25000 more, In india do we have the content to use that 1080P.
Obviously it isn't worth it.

& when HD will be mainstream in India, LED tv's will be in the Trend (and these LCD's will be gone) & also sizes of 60" + will be common. & nobody will purchase sizes less than that.
so uptill then, there's no use of spending more money on Full HD sets.
