Forum Folks,

Willing to try out replacing the drivers and tweeter of my center channel Paradigm CC-370 V2.

To go along with Paradigm Monitor 9 V7 towers, Denon 4308 AVR

Please let me know local dealer contacts to buy the drivers, tweeter and crossover in Bangalore

Thanks

I don't' get it, replacing the blown drivers is understandable... but why the crossover?
e-mail paradigm's tech support. you can get the info from paradigm's website. They will assist in providing a new driver, tweeter, etc.

Hi,

Drivers are ok - but the sound is muffled, very feeble.

Thanks
Ramesh S

Need to know what you mean by muffled... center not loud enough or unable to understand what is being said???
How did you check the drivers are functioning properly?

A couple of things first,

*If your receiver has a center channel equalizer you can try adjusting the levels on that to improve the sound... still a problem?

*put one of the Monitor 9 V7 in the center channel position and see if you notice the same sonic characteristics... still a problem?

Something is defective in your system... (could be receiver, source) either you don't have it calibrated correctly or something is broken.

Your best bet is to take the CC370 to the dealer and have them try it out... it's much easier to diagnose that way.

I am getting a better sound if i hook Polk Audio OWM3 speaker as center which i am using it for surround, i would like to try replacing the drivers/tweeter/crossover, any suggestion where i can get them in bangalore please help

If you want to replace the woofer and tweeter in your Paradigm speaker, it's not a simple case of finding similar sized woofer and tweeter and replacing existing ones. You need to use same woofer and tweeter as that speaker cabinet, damping, port hole size and location, crossover topology was designed specifically for that woofer-tweeter combination.

If you're certain the drivers are the culprit, buy replacement drivers from Paradigm.

For that matter, does anyone know ANY shop in SP Road where decent speaker drivers are available (other than Dainty)? A recent search of mine was not successful.

Thanks,
Reji

Ramesh,

find out if the tweeters are blown or any crossover components gone bad,, don't search for Paradigm CC-370 V2 drivers in SP road,, :)

try to get the crossovers recapped, and if that doesnt work, and if you're sure, get the driver repaired. a rewound/reconed driver is still a closer match than *some* random driver

Did you check the surrounds of the speaker cones? They're typically made of rubber like material and lose their elasticity over time and come off like powder in your hands. If so, you can get them re-coned to get them back to shape.
