Hi

Will anybody tell me as to which DVD player should I go for so that I would be able to see downloaded content of avi, mkv, xvid and other similar formats.
Right now I am owning a Pioneer dvd player which surprisingly recognizes the xvid format. but unfortunately it shows 'NO DISC' error when I try to play a avi file on the cd.

Does the Oppo recognizes all the above formats, I hear it is a versatile player.
Pl let me know any player sony/samsung/lg/pioneer which would be complatibale with the above formats.

Regards,

JAYANT

Jayant, What about the Phillips 5996? If you are plannin to play mkvs and all why dont you go for a media player like wd or xmp.

Presently no DVD player I know can play mkv's. WDTV or Popcorn hour are the media players which can be used. The other option is to convert the mkv to DVD using softwares like ConvertXtoDVD.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
