Purchased "The Hobbit 3D" in India and quality was not found lacking. BTW, I think you meant BDs and not CDs.

any ideas about matrix' quality as the same is there at amazonUK for only 9GBP

I have Matrix and it has 3 individual boxes for each movie with a cardboard container like MI Quadrilogy or Transformers Trilogy. Each movie has Special Features and quality is great.

I guess Leonardo set should be same as Matrix.

Yes, Leonardo set comes in 3 separate boxes(whatever is the technical name for this). Got it from Flipkart few months back.

IMHO, if they can be given at 90% discount, it only says BD as a media is overpriced. Stock clearance is a different issue altogether but I feel Rs. 400 to 600 is an ideal price for BD. I wonder today how much will be the difference in production cost between DVD and BD. This industry is clearly trying to make more money from those who can afford the technology.

Seems it was an error and they have fixed it, however only three 3D titles are available @150/-.

For testing purpose Bambi II is not good, it may not look like Blu-ray should. You can order some other animated movies like

The Incredibles
Meet The Robinsons
Wall-E
Cars 1-2
Up
etc.

Production costs are the same. Difference comes in for transfering/ remastering the old film prints into HD. Many Studios seem to be happy to rake it profits on sales of under 20,000 copies ( unless it is/was a Major hit) at over $25 a disc. There are specialist producers like Twilight Time etc who sell a limited 3000 copies a movie, selling at times for around $35. Do not know much about the Hindi/Indian movie production costs, to , make a judgement.
