Frens,

as mentioned, i am putting up a high level pic review of this Sub, which i acquired couple of weeks back. Due to lack of time and other priority work, i am posting some pics. Will update this thread with more info as i go along.

Listening Impressions:
Very accurate bass, which touches to 35Hz. Bass is tight, can couple the sub for Music as well. Since it has a powerful amp of 200w Cont. and a powerful driver, movies comes to life. Build quality is good, but not comparable to imported subs. Beefy toroid to drive the electronics. Separate wooden enclosure for the PCB electronics (So that the board doesn't get affected by reverb Sonics). Very good damping of the internals with Glasswool and .75 ft Bass port tube. Will post the pics of PCB and internals later. One big dynamite for 12.5k :D ...Best VFM product from an Indian mfr.

Enjoy the pics:

going little off topic.

on a whole with your denon 1311,wharfedale 9.5 and this astonia sub....what is your opinion about movies only....not music...
is this set up completly satifying?
also denon 1311..do it handle wharfedale floorstanders properly..
as for my upgrade plan...maximum peoles suggestion is to get a more powerful avr to drve floorstanders...

thank you for information sharing.:)

well prosen, let me be frank, this SUB can fill a room of 12X15 max. Its very satisfying for movies. Regarding 1311 driving Wharfs 9.5, it does the job decently. Even though the amp lacks in the low dept. But i do have a DEQ2496 to shape the signal, so overall it sounds good.
I have a dedicated amp for Stereo (Norge 1200) with custom build preamp SSP. They are really good for music.

This sub does not seem to have a coaxial input - How does one connect a coax from AVR to this sub?

Is you room size 12X15 ? and you have done the testing with Wharfedale diamond 9.5 with Astonia Sub for movies only right ?

There are 2 levels of inputs. One is the line level and the other speaker level. From the AV recv sub-out you can use a "one-2" rca adaptor and run a RCA cable pair for line levels.

Thanks for review,I read avmax review saying similarly. Many times avmax reviews are not spot on,but this thread confirms about power of Indian sw.

Yes Spiro, Even i have dissected Sonodyne(6yr old sub) and the quality was kind of OK-OK. But this SUB have upped the notch many levels up. The internals are really good.
So its not far from those days where we will have audiophile devices with good VFM by Indian mfgrs.

Now there are 3 Indian manufacturers which i know of who produce sub-woofers .....Sonodyne, Norge & Astonia...

Norge had a subwoofer.....But not many were aware of that until it was Reviewed by AV Max..

All of them priced around 10 - 15K...But very few ppl are ready to take the product without any recommendations (Like AV Max reviews/What Hi fi).....

I have not seen many ppl here who have recommend Sonodyne / Norge subwoofers.....Even when someone is on tight budget & asks for subwoofer recommendations, there are not many who are ready to recommend indian products.....

Hope this changes going forward....:clapping:

But the only problem is getting demo of these are either not easy or not good place to demo.

I felt that for sonodyne in Bangalore, they use to have one @forum , which was decent, but the Eva mall demo place is horrible!!!!

This is my personal experience.

You are absolutely right.....Especially ppl from bangalore...Many have complained the same issue...

This is there facebook page...

https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/sonodyneindia/

I have been following this facebook page & for sure i know that there is a person by name Abhishek Chowdhury (I believe sales manager) who address most of the issues on facebook.

Drop your feedback there & let them know what you feel... If they take it positive, atleast we will have better listening places in future...

Note : I don't work (or) support Sonodyne .....Juz my point of view....

@Vincent
If auditioned Polk PSW110, Can you please add it to the comparison?
Im planning to buy an entry level sub under 14K. It really helps me choosing the right one.

I think astonia has better power & control than polk(as per reviews).

I have not auditioned Polk SUB nor sonodyne Roar 210. So i cannot comment and compare. The only sub which i auditioned was Velodyne impact 10 and Sonodyne Roar II (which i owned). This Astonia sub is a big bang for the buck. That i can assure you!
