Astonia Audio PS-2000 Subwoofer Review

I used the sub for 4 hours only. Sadly i still think indian produts are below average in terns of quality.

Interesting; I have now used it for some 20 hours on very high volume/bass. i am keeping an eye as I have 7 days return policy with Snapdeal.

My DF-10 sub is leaking glasswool from the bottom port !! Yesterday my maid found a few bits of glasswool on the floor which she threw away. Today there was a larger quantity (bigger than a fist), which was lying around the sub. Should I be worried about this? For the time being I've pushed it back in the port, but is it supposed to leak like this? I've not overpowered the sub at any time. All times my receiver is playing movies is around -9.0/-10.0 dB. Only at times have i increased the volume to around -6.0 dB.

I am a bit scared - thankfully it's still in warranty as it's purchased only 2-3 months back. I'm planning to write to them about this and see what their response is.

After the initial 2-3 instances of the leaking glasswool, it had stopped until last week. While watching Thor 2 last week, during some sub-intensive scenes, there was a bit more of glasswool which leaked out of the port. I contacted Vaibhav and he promptly sent over someone over to my place last weekend. He brought over some foam padding which he stuck over to the sides and wrapped the glasswool in, within the enclosure. I have yet to test it thoroughly, but the initial listening seems to be okay. There's a distinctly larger thump when i switch on the sub now than earlier.

I have clicked some pics when he opened the sub. Will post those later if you guys are interested in seeing the enclosure

is it worth buying astonia point 1 df if a have a budget around 20000-22000 or should i go with sonodyne roar 210.

Buy an astonia only if your budget is strictly around 15 where there are not many options. You can do better around 20. Look at polks and bic america.

i am looking for Astonia point 1 df-10 active subwoofer but there is a big difference in price btw their off we site and ebay. On Astonia web site the price is 25,990/- and on ebay thats available @ as low as 14,799/-. Please help on this confusion and also suggest the performance of the same.

Contact them directly at [email protected]. Vaibhav Gadade is the person who would reply and is quite knowledgeable and honest. Go for Astonia only if you are on a very very strict budget. If you can stretch, go for something better. Astonia is good for movies but clips heavily if driven hard.

i have just received mail from Vaibhav reg Astonia sub as follows:

" We now have upgraded the sub to df10 rhyno model and it comes with a new hand built driver that matches even better with the amplifier module and spiked height adjustable legs.
The mrp is 24990/- but the factory direct price is just 18990/-."

I was expecting the price of around 15k as per my budget.

The Boston Acoustics ASW 250 Subwoofer is also available on hifi mart @ 18900/- if suggested.

Please advise if other good sub is available in this price range.

Do not rush into buying a sub without adequate demos (as I did). You try the sub with the equipment and source that you tend to use and find the best match.
