Asus O!Play Mini with DolbyTHD decoding, DTS HD-MA for just 3500!!

we have deliberated on the price, the features, the old and new fundas but we still have not figured out where to buy this from

I just came across THIS review from Techtree, about Asus O Play mini that clearly states DolbyDigital THD passthrough AND decoding as well along with DTS MA, and all the regular formats available. read few reviews and I was pleasently surprised about the capability of this player and that to at a steal price of 3500 ....... any one out there bought this player, I want to get a solid confirmation about DD THD and DTS MA capabilities ........ I checked on their official site as well and it does states the same ...

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Multimedia - ASUS O!Play MINI

That's a great news! Thanks for sharing the info.
I was almost zeroing down on the Asus O!Play, just because of it's one feature of playing music files by one click of a button on the remote, without even connecting a display. This feature was particularly required by me as I need to connect the media player only for music listening purpose and I will not connect any display to it. The O!Play totally serves my purpose.
I hope the same feature is also available in the O!Play mini.....if it is then it is going to be my next gadget buy......Can someone please confirm? Checked out the website but nothing is mentioned over there about the one touch music access feature.

Cheers!

yes thats support but how can you play .......listed files in USB ....by putting numbers of files contents should be not problems.

today i called Mr. Nishant Sagar of Asus, he looks after West region and based in Delhi. he connected me with someone else (dont remember the name of that person). He said that Asus mini will launch in next 20-25 days. I would rather go for Asus R1. Anyone know any shop to buy Asus R1 in New Delhi (preferably west delhi)?

Hi everyone,

This is my first post as I have just joined the forum.

I was very interested in buying the ASUS mini but cannot figure out where to get it on line or from a dealer in Delhi / Noida. I would greatly appreciate the help if anyone has the information.

Would it be better to spend a little more and get Seagate or WD? Again the question woule be where to but these from.

Please guide me.

Thank you.

Does this Oplay Mini plays the media contents via Wireless USB dongle ?

My First post... This forum rocks..!!
Got an Onkyo S3300 AV Receiver and now looking for a media player to play HD contents. Dumped Blu-Ray players for many reasons and want to minimize my investments till this HD media stuff matures a bit more... I would basically hook it to my External 2TB HDD.

Now lost whether to go for ASUS mini or R1 selling on eBay.
R1 @5199 looks tempting to me eBay ASUS R1 over mini @ 3890 eBay ASUS Mini

Are these kind of media players a in-between before a new wave of tech change? Like my AV Receiver has HDMI 1.4 and I have not found stores selling 1.4 cables and most Ble Ray players / Media Players are 1.3?

Appreciate responses

here again with one more query - does the mini have options for firmware upgrade since it does NOT come with any n/w capabilities ???
