need to know much space still available in pallet?
hello dannyI have all of these kits in stock. The only thing I don't have in house and in hand are the servo amps that come from Rythmik Audio, and right now he is out of stock on them. If one or two is all that is needed though I might talk him into pulling one from an assembled unit or something. I'll have to talk with him about that though. Otherwise those amps might have to ship later.
I am getting ready to head out to the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest next Wednesday the 12th and won't be back until the 17th. So I really can't start packing these until after the show. That might give you guys a little more time.
If Ruben is sending flat packs to you with this same order then they will need to be sent here to me or they will just need to be a separate shipment. We will need to work that out. If it is just a few flat packs than I can add them to this pallet load. If it is a lot of flat packs and a lot of weight then they will need to go on their own pallet.
has interest died here?![]()
Dear Captain,
Sorry for the long delay as I have been busy searching for a job! The custom duty for these items would be around 17-20% depending upon the assessing officer. Technically, they should not attract more than 14%.
In addition, I would suggest you to obtain "appropriate" invoice/bill as this may raise suspicion since we are importing a bulk quantity. Also, please indicate that these are for your personal use and you are a hobbyist!
Thanks and Regards,
Venkat
I had spoken to at least 3 guys in the business. They all say the same thing that so many speakers cannot be imported by an individual and the import has to be made by a company having an IEC and that the customs would work out to 26 odd percent. I was browsing DGFT site yesterday and there appears to be a category of individual importing for personal purposes who need not have IEC. I had downloaded the PDF of the Handbook at office yesterday. Will post the link later in the day. I'd most probably visiting customs office today or tomorrow to personally verify the facts.
Looks like we are in a bind. Can you check with the Agent whom you are talking to whether following method is possible?
1) We individually place order with Danny with credit card
2) The agent at US treat it as individual House bills against each member and One Master bill (between Origin Agent and Destination Agent) . The shipping documentation is done in this way.
3) Once the consignment reaches India, the destination agent clears it individually by paying customs duty.
Basically it is more of a documentation effort for the Agent. As I understand, various items of customers destined for a particular destination is send together as one Master consignment by the agents and the destination agent then breaks it (Break bulk) and passes it to individual customers at the destination. This is done normally by all Freight forwarders to save on Shipping charges.
IEC code IEC code 0100000053 can be used for personal items import (not for trade). See here Importer Exporter Code Number or IEC Code No in India. | DGFT
This is what I was trying to convey thru my post 489. I feel we have to individually place order, but ship as one consignment. With some contact at Customs, we could clear it as individual shipments, but again it can be done at one go by the agent if we know some one or the Agent whom imports for us knows some one. Normally clearing agents would know someone. Customs duty will be reasonable I feel if we can convince the officer that it is for individual use. I am trying to get some info thru my source.
