Ok ... Had been to viola . Alliance 4 and the shop...
One thing I noticed was all of them auditioned with a yamaha avr...

I heard the same song with the same speakers and the same song..

Well for me I cudnt make much of a diff with changing the avr...
So now I hav decided to go for the 667 finally...
Cos since the receiver didn't make much of a diff wrt sound quality .. My next outlook was features and yamaha wins hands down....

Speakers : I heard towers... Mission were the best of the lot...
Others sounded hollow without a separate woofer...
I was quoted 38k for the mission...towers pair
Is this a good price?
I have not bargained..

All the three played Hotel California (Live) by the Eagles..
Hope u heard d same song....
but where did u hear V667?? Last week they had only V467 and Denon 1611 in all d shops....
But..well I havent purchased nythin yet..still auditioning...

Was subwoofer on?With SW high volume,you cannot make any difference in SQ as it will overlap other speakers.I usually ask to turn off Sub for music so that I can judge the amp properly.

and guys what about speakers...at this moment i dont want to invest more than 40 k ina ll...so i was wondering about going for a pair right now..and maybe 4-5 months down the line when i hav enough cash...will go to complete the setup...

Sorry for late reply. You can audition Marantz @ Viola in Andheri (With Jamo, Polk and Canton speakers) and Cinebels in Bandra (With Jamo and Klipsch speakers). Confirm prices before you pay.

You should carry your own CD's for auditioning. Audition them as much as possible with Dire Straits, Pink Flyod, etc. They play full frequencies. When i auditioned with my friend for his setup, we also carried some high quality mp3's.

Speaker + AVR combo play a very important role. Did you audition Integrated amplifer with any of the speakers @ Viola.

one more reason for which i brought denon 1911 is front USB Port. i use it a lot. just pull in a USB Stick and enjoy stereo mode with subwoofer on in 2.1 mode. Another reason you can save settings using remote button, though it dosent work as expected.

Hows the stereo output (2 channel) for playing mp3 s
or in PURE DIRECT mode for playing mp3s
In pure direct mode.. is the quality of music considerably better than playing in normal mode ..
please share yr experience...
