Hi Friends,

I have started a new project as subjected thread. These Enclosures are made for one of our forum member. These are well known enclosures designed by XRK from diyaudio.com. The thread link is here. It consist of 2 Sealed Enclosures. One is a conical shape having internal volume of 1.1 ltr which will be used for a full range speaker, and the big enclosure will have volume of 24.1 Ltr and will be used for Subwoofer. [ Drivers will be fitted by the member itself ]

I had made 3D drawings of same. For every built i start with drawing. I had already shared the 3D image of drawing on nn_in thread Semi DIY FAST Monitor build | 2way sealed

The hardest part was the dagger, so I first started with the hardest one. The Internal Volume is 1.1 Ltrs. I had made it hexagonal type. I had to make some special tools to cut the degree to match all six sides in conical way from Open End to the Conical End with full contact surface area. This was a learning process and it wouldn't had been possible without the 3D drawing software. Enough of write up now sharing some images.

I had cutted total of 12 pieces of below mdf piece

I have yet to receive other mdf pieces of main enclosure from the CNC guy.

I will keep on updating the built as it moves ahead step by step.

The Dagger is important as it has its own sonic character with the design. This is not my design i am just making the enclosures i had mentioned the actual link of the thread in my first post.

In the above photo you can see i had made groove to fit the dagger from back side, I don't need to worry for the center alignment. The groove will take care of it. In Below Photo you can see i had applied some Araldite to the T Nuts so that it will stick to the MDF (i will advice to apply any glue to the T nuts when using on MDF or else on a long run you will regret the same) This glue will be good on long run when the main driver will be opened multiple times for stuffing.

I have used some pipe flanges as a weight to hold the dagger on place with uniform pressure on it.

Wow. I dabble in carpentry (furniture only).
The sheer complexity of the build itself "baffles" me (pun intended)
Waiting for the final product.

Cheers,
Raghu

they look like thin aluminum foils ... interesting ....
what do they do basically? do they absorb the sound? or prevent it from leaking from the box ? etc etc ?

These sound absorbing sheets are generally used to dampen car vibrations. Look up YouTube videos. They are amazing for blocking external sound also.
I have been contemplating on using those on my Magnepan 1.7s. These sheets work well for dampening any vibrations.

Wow they are coming out really beautiful. I am really amazed at the neatness of the lines and cuts.

MaSh

would bitumen sheets work ? These damping sheets are quite expensive compared to bitumen sheets .

This sheet is the need for design. It may have its own role in design, hence the designer (XRK Audio) has used it in his built.

very nice Sadik ....
this is only glue without screws I guess ....

Yes you are right. And at the same time, its time taking Job Secondly if you are short on clamps then double the time.
