Hi All,

Looking for some advise on setting up a 2.1 speaker setup to start with. I just bought poineer vsx 930 k.:D Its rated 105W per channel, 8 ohms, 20 hz-20Khz, THD 0.09%

I will be using it for both music and movies. I love listening to instrumentals like Flamenco/Spanish guitar, Ilayaraja, early ARR, some daft punk. I'm not very particular on vocals.

I will listen to only at low to medium volume levels.

My budget is limited for now best case under 25k for bookshelf and subwoofer. Can stretch to 30k!

Listening space- 10 ft X 20 ft, with a 3*2*2 couch

Would be very helpful if someone can give some suggestions :)

Thank you!

Can anyone point me to shops where I can audition or buy speakers in Bangalore? Some budget to mid range options please....

Do we get Polk Audio TSi100 in India?
I was checking some options; Boston Acoustics A26, Pioneer SP-BS22

Would be thankful for any suggestions.

Hmm in that budget I am not sure if you can get any good speakers that will do justice to your Pioneer. You may want to look at the classified section where there are some great deals on speakers and subs.

Yes you do get that Polk in India. Why do you think it would not be available? Did a dealer confirm that? I do see it available on amazon and am sure the local ProFX store would have it in stock.Polk Audio TSi100 2-Way Bookshelf Speaker with 5-1 4 Driver - Pair Black.

I would suggest you also look at Polk RTi A1 Polk Audio RTI A1 Bookshelf Speakers (Black).

I have not heard the BA speakers, so will not comment. Pioneer BS22 has excellent reviews from its days.

Do visit the local ProFX store where you can audition various brands and models. Modern World, Domlur is also a good option to visit and audition. They are the authorized dealers of Elac.

BA A26 will be good. They are the most vfm bookshelf speakers available at present. Their most nearest match is Dali Zensor 3. I am using A26 with Yamaha 481 and very happy with the performance.

Thanks

Thanks Mash tsi100 is priced high in Amazon and its an old model so thought it's difficult to get hold of
I'll check out profx/modern world. I went average with my avr purchase cos got good deal in Kuala Lumpur. The other polk is 40k way out of my budget

BA 26 and Z3 performance wise are quite different. If I had a choice it would be the Z3 any day.

Check out the Polk RTi A series (1 or 3), it should serve well....

Taga seems to have caught the market well too.....audition the Taga Harmony B40s

Z3 are definitely one of the best but are priced way above against performance.

I have auditioned A26 and Z3 with a same AVR(Denon) and A26 were sounding more open. Of course, sound signatures changes with AVR to AVR.

Thanks.

Thanks to anubisX. I was able to audition Zensor 1 :)

I'm posting his info from another thread as it has useful contact info

ENSEMBLON- No Zensor 3 for audition at this moment. But they seem to have other models, none what I was looking for. Seemed quite nice on the phone.

The Home Theater Pro- Outrightly said no auditions and did not quote price for Zensor 3. Maybe they target customers with deeper wallets as he said they are "custom home theater specialists"

I auditioned Zensor 1 at DNI Bellandur. They were very patient and auditioned close to 45 min. Very nice bunch of guys. They also showed me Yamaha Ns-333. I didnt like them much stopped within 5 min of auditioning them.

Zensor 1 has put me on a spot now. I'm now confused between A3 and Zensor 1. Little confused as to what should i choose. Zensor will definitely save me 3k atleast on a stretched budget.

I plan to include a sub in couple of months. So I'm on the wall now between A3 and Zensor 1. Any tips or advise

Zensor 3 has a better low end compared to Zensor 1. Rest is more or less the same. If you intend to get a sub, zensor 1 makes more sense in my opinion.

How much was it quoted?

Would you know where to audition taga in Bangalore.
I'm not really ready to get into hassle of ordering online and then getting them installed. I don't have space so need to wall mount. So I'm preferably looking for looking for local guy who can do the installation. My avr has been idle for a week hope to get it running by this weekend

If you are strictly looking for local audition and installation then go for Zensor 3. You should get it around 26K-27K.

Thanks
