How Much Shipping For 200kg Sub?

well, the good thing is that you have atleast defined your requirements. Without design goals, your project will get no where. I also suggest that you define what size etc you can live with.

Have you checked the specs of the stuff you are trying, the ed and the danley, do they meet your requirements. Somehow i dont think so (i also havent checked though). I dont think there is anything commercial that will meet your requirements. You will also need multiple drivers to meet this demand. Also be ready to have a subwoofer a size of atleast a large fridge if not a room.

I dont think any of us has done a project like this. I suggest you refine your requirements and post a message on hometheatershack subwoofer forum. thats the best place for this.

Please also check the specs of your electronics, IIRC most of the electronics drop in this range. many of them start rolling off below 7-8hz.

I hope you are aware of the fact that most of the time you cant hear below 20-25hz (you can check some online hearing tools for this), but you can feel it.

Also, your room size has a major impact at lower frequencies. the smaller the room, the more the gain and earlier it will start. Please do some research on this. Also, try to get some kind of measuring equipment to see how much room gain you are getting. that will help you in designing the sub.

yaaa brother eda7-900 has the output i'm looking for but don't go that low and about danely its a passive subwoofer at 3000$ and 1500$ (keep in mind shipping extra)if u like to buy sub with seperate amp so its not my type and its also above my budget so ED A7-900 is the sub in my budget cost around 220000 including shipping and customs and it will cost more less coz in exchanging of hsu uls-15 it will be around 120 or 130 something like this ...
so what's ur thoughts on ed sub though it is tuned to 11hz in-room response but have a output as if u r in front of a large blowing fan that blows ur hairs and pants and hit harder in chest
so with in 120 or 130 in exchange of uls-15 i can save alot of money too right
i'm still thinking for this deal.....
for what i have heard from blu-ray site a guy who bought two ed a7-900 told me that one ed-a7900 for my room size is like a tank in ht ..

A subwoofer is the easiest AV gear to DIY. Most folks who are handy with tools/smart who are really into bass and subs (i mean really into it) DIY their subs unless they have lot of money to burn to buy money-no-object custom made subs. Real BASS needs very large drivers and cabinets and they are not available commercially from your regular speaker brands. Consider a DIY project for your sub. For 2,20,000, you can make a really good one.

Also consider the "other facts" mentioned by doors. They are very important while considering a solution. Otherwise this will be a journey to nowhere.

I used to chat a lot with this guy on audio asylum who had decades of experience with bass/subs ( a gentleman who really knows his bass). He used to swear by parametric equalizers. Consider investing in one. An equalized sub can go a long way in getting a very linear response in your room. I am hoping that you are looking for a linear response.

My colleague uses the oaudio BASH amp with his DIY sealed sub and tells me that the parametric eq really helped him tune/tame the sub w.r.t to his room.

Dont waste your money like that brother. try to spend some time on the web and understand things. I take a lot of time to do research and understand things before i put my money in it.

Adding another uls-15 will give you 3db more. nothing more nothing less. it also gives you some sound quality improvements but thats another story. does that make it 126 db. nope. does that make it to 5hz. nope.

Please goto home theater shack subwoofer forums. people have posted there designs there with great pics, construction details, measurement graphs. See their designs. There are hundreds, using different drivers, amps etc. you probably will find some existing design which meets your requirements. Atleast you will get some idea as to what it takes to get to the sub level you want.

You will also realize that its not easy to make the planet's best sub as there are some real monster subs out there that people have made in their homes with their own hands:lol: There are people that are using an entire room as the sub enclosure (called infinite baffle).

actually it will give upto 6db more.. in the deep bass reqion, as you will benefit from coupling.. having said that, your point is completely valid.

Also makes sense to remember that as you get better and better deep bass (read cleaner, distortion free) , it actually seems less loud. (at 25hz and below on most commercial subs, you "hear" more of the harmonics).

so before deciding what sub(s) will give you the bass of your dreams, it's important to understand what exactly is the bass of your dreams---> deep bass? clean bass? loud bass? harmonics driven bass? (- one well respected international av magazine seems to love this sort of bass)

it would be between the sub out of your pre--pro and in line input of your sub amp.


you really should "visit" the home theatre shack. the BFD is the weapon of choice over there (and it accepts xlr inputs so mating it to the umc-1 should be a doddle). they also have a freeware program that helps address room modes and smoothen out the fr of your sub. for you, it seems a "no brainer" as a next purchase for you

isn't this OT? - but taking it further OT have you recieved you XDA-1? mine is waiting at borderlinx. am waiting for some black friday amazon packages to arrive and then will ship out?
