HDMI is the easiest way to do this.

If the laptop does not have HDMI, use VGA for video and headphone out from laptop for stereo sound.

yeah i found that link too and eventually landed at the intel page which seems to be the generation of devices after those in the 3 ways video.

Belkin ScreenCast* TV Adapter

NETGEAR Push2TV* HD Adapter

D-Link DHD-131* TV Adapter

Only works if you have an i3/5/7 cpu which i do.

it needs Intel Wireless Display, what hardware needs to be installed in laptop to get this to works ?

I m using Benq 24" Monitor (12K bought 2 Years ago) + Asus TV Tuner (1.7K) + iBall wireless keyboard/mouse combo with my Stereo sound setup (MF m3i + MA RX 6).

Going to add WD Live Streaming Player (6.7K) to it with Seagate home NAT 2TB (10K) - on their way as we speak :D.

This setup works pretty well for me. Clarity for TV (using Airtel DTH) is good (though only thing I watch on TV is Footy n VH1).

So, if you havent already invested on TV, this Monitor + TV Tuner (you can plug in laptop as in when you want) can be a pretty good alternative, unless u want a big screen (going beyond 24" in monitor can get expensive) - for which I am planning to add a projector anywaz ;).

Uhhh I still dont get what youre trying to say..

This thread was about how to stream a wireless HD signal to the tv without any wires or complications.

PTV1000 This does so by just connecting box to the tv and sitting on the sofa with laptop. No wires no nothing so I dont know what you're talking about.

I know this thread is about wireless streaming which I am interesrted in too, ok simply put, is there any alternative to this device you suggested using a laptop which does not have intel wireless link

the PTV1000 which you mentioned require a laptop with intel wireless link which is not found on older laptops like mine does not have so is there any alternative using any software with Vista OS ?

Click the links dude, those are exactly what you're asking for, it's universal, they are not dependent on intel.

They use a dongle to connect streamer to the adapter wirelessly.

I have an intel sandy bridge i5 2540 thats why I got the intel only one as it's recommended for intel systems.
