Its SHOCKING that they are using SEVERAL SD CAMERAS during Delhi DD vs Mumbai Indians match. Even the on stump camera is VERY BAD quality ANALOG SD camera used like 10 years back! The camera which is showing Mukesh Ambani in the crowd and even the one covering for PODCAST and Presentation area interviews and Pavilion are SD. Fortunately their aspect ratio is 16:9.
To top it some of their SD/HD cameras are OUT OF FOCUS since yesterday afternoon's matches.

even I realised some SD camera was used during WC semifinal and final matches.
I didn't see any SD cameras during WC, however even in Pune match the Stump camera is SD (fortunately digital this time).

This same problem existed with the IPL HD coverage, last year also. It is quite shameful that a company such as Sony, which is one of the primary players in the HD camera market, cannot ensure a complete and proper HD coverage of an event for their own channel. The 'stump' cameras wer all SD last year and the same seems to be the case this year also. I was pleasantly surprised to see that ESPN ahd used HD 'stump' cameras for the World Cup coverage.
What the hell is wrong with today's coverage of the IPL in HD on Tata Sky+ HD??
There's a hell lot of pixelation and the frame rate is abnormal. The coverage was excellent yesterday, but today it looks as if they are broadcasting some old recording off a CRT TV. It is ACTUALLY horrible.
Am I the only one observing it? Or are other people on Tata Sky+ HD experiencing the same? Haven't checked the other HD channels yet.

Yes, the picture in TS+ HD is not good today. It looks as if we are watching an improper upscaling picture.
This is most likely a broadcasting issue I guess. The picture is good when its stationary. But moving objects looks horrible.

Tons of interlacing artifacts and the picture quality looks more like that of an upscaled SD channel on the current KKR vs DC match when watched on TS+HD. Is it the same on other providers also?

Looks like they have a few SD cameras on the field. And whenever they mix in the feed from the SD cameras, the quality drops big time.

^ Yes, this is the first time I am watching sports in HD and never thought IPL telecast is a mix bag of SD and HD instead of 100% HD. To top it - PSEUDO 5.1 (I would prefer stereo or even mono broadcasts instead of such STUPIDLY Panning 5.1. My AVR does a SUPERLATIVE job when using NEO:6, no such panning issue on ANY Mono or Stereo source).
Talking about the Video issue of today on MAX HD. I am just watching it and LAUGHING a loud. Its ONLY one SILLIEST of issue. They do not set the INTERLACED Flag for the input video (it could be TS themselves, can someone confirm if it happened on Sun DTH as well?). They were treating the video as progressive so were not passing through interlaced video and instead were PROCESSING video with interlacing lines. I can't imagine MAX or TS would do such a blunder by hiring such silly people who would not know to set the flag or atleast fix it when they saw it. I am seeing they were TRYING to fix it but were unable to figure what was the issue 
EDIT: so at 7:44PM today they FINALLY CHECKED the flag which just took 1 second to fix the video. I wonder how their technical staff are trained if they do such SILLY mistake which cause such a BIG issue during a NATIONAL BROADCAST!

Jignesh bhai, do you still have that issue? I am getting proper Audio in MAX SD and FINALLY TS is providing it in STEREO from Mono I heard on Saturday! PQ has also improved.
Now, MAX SD's SOUND is MUCH SUPERIOR to the STUPID FAKE 5.1 created by TS (I can confirm its TS doing this trick of converting to 5.1 as whenever there is a disturbance, sound automatically switches to the original channel (for a second) before finally panning to the center speaker almost muting the entire stereo/surround field. While MAX HD sound has better fidelity, this stupid CONTINUOUS panning of Stereo to Surround bothers me MOST.
Talking of MAX HD - The trend of using some of the SD camera continues in this match (fortunately last night's Pune Warriors Match didnt have any SD camera other than "Stump" ones).
EDIT: yesterday's KKR match had HD Stump cameras and they reduced the number of SD cameras by the end of the match (after that interlacing mishap, I wont be surprised to know that they were using HD cameras while outputting some as SD
and finally realized to switch to HD!)

Folks, looks like Sony is using more SD cameras than the HD one. Except for few main angles, rest of the feed were from SD and it looks pathetic.
Is it because they have very few HD cameras. This may be due to the fact they have to share the cameras across 2 stadiums.
Still, they cannot cheat the HD viewers with such kind of cheap feed.
