Just Arrived!! Unpacking pics ...

Congrats!!! :clapping: :clapping:

We want a listening session...listening session...listening session... :ohyeah:

the comparison with the Ayon will be apples to oranges as far as comparisons between DACs go. A comparison with the PD DAC will be the right way to go, their philosophies are similar - no digital filters, output op-amps, etc
Nice DAC Selection....niche manufacturers are the way to go

Enjoy

Yup that is exactly what I wanted to compare with. How does the copy compare with the real deal . The ayon will sound very different.

price increase since you ordered it

I was actually going to take a few months to decide on my DAC, then the impending price increase (announced) on the website made me fast track my decision.

It is is still a very useful exercise to compare an Apple to an Orange ... the saying does hold its wisdom in plural - Apples(s) vs Orange(s). How else can we appreciate an Apple for its uniqueness, when we bite into it? Or an Orange? ;)

Anyways it is meant to be a fun exercise when it happens - not a nitpicking one, although our audiophile neuroses won't likely let that happen. :)

Congrats!!! :clapping: :clapping:

Ok. I will record my DAC in the gear chain playing on my cellphone and upload a 128kbps mp3 version for you to listen at your own comfort in your listening chair :ohyeah:

More seriously, welcome anytime :)

Cheers

by all means do it :-) I was trying to say that the NOS and OS DAC differences will primarily showup between the Ayon and the 47labs. The NOS dacs usually have a more rounded bass, less detail on the top, compromise on ability to handle complex music (partly also due to passive output stage) and so on. At the same time, with some genres, they will tend to sound more natural and "musical".

cheers

Cool...I can then play it on my laptop in front of my tape recorder and record it over one of my old cassettes that don't listen to anymore...that I would be able to play on my system... :D

A close snap on connector will be useful, I might be interested in

- Cute little tuner
- CD transport
- and of course DAC.

But description about connectors on their website confused me a bit.

What has lollipop got to do with DAC ? Ahh then I am reminded 'Adults are just kids with money.'
Congratulations on the purchase Gobble. I like 47 lab products. They do things differently. Here is there turntable. Notice the clever use of the belt.

Congrats on the new babies!

A detailed listening impression is called for, or you didn't buy it:)

The winning guess gets a Lollipop from me :ohyeah:

When most ( or all) members are male , why such double meaning comment?

Are you referring 50 cent's candy shop?

" I'll take you to the candy shop
I'll let you lick the lollipop
Go 'head girl, don't you stop
Keep going 'til you hit the spot"

For such comments like "lollipop" and "Chocobar" there are other forums ,not this IMHO
