MS Aviano 6 & Mission MHT FS Audition
Had a brief speaker audition at Melody,Pune this afternoon.Speakers auditioned:
MS Aviano 6
Mission MHT series FS
Melody has a pretty small demo room with low ceiling. He had Marantz Amp but I insisted on using my AVR.
Gears used: Pioneer BDP,Yamaha V671 AVR.Tracks played:
1. Instruments
2. Kehna he kya from movie Bombay
3. SOme Angrezi stuff which I dint noted
Started with Mission MHT FS.It sounded very harsh to me.Very Very bright to my taste.I could not bear it for more than 3-4 mins.
Then switched to Avianos.Wow what a difference! Vocals were very clear,Bass was tight, instrument separation very good.It got a very broad soundstage.
After listening to it for 5 mins I told the the guy to switch off the center channel as I'm planning to go only for the FS.To my surprise there was no center channel.I double checked & yes there was no center channel. The center sound image or whatever it is called was just terrific. I changed my position from center to extreme corner but it sounded same & musical.
Yes it was a treated demo room but credit must also go to the Avianos...Although speaker placement was not ideal as the there was very little space (hardly 5-6") from the side & back walls but still they just sounded beautiful.
For stereo listening ,they produce sufficient bass. The flute & drums sounded very concert like.Altogether I was floored by them.:clapping:
Coming to prices Avianos MRP :44K best price 42.5K, Mission MHT 5.1 speaker package: 42K
The owner says due to Rs weakening the prices have been revised by 10%,not sure if this is true. One of our FM haisaikat got the same set at around 38K so there must be some more room for hard bargaining.
I also enquired about the Avaino 5.1 package, which costs 100K.He also carries Jamo & Magnat but then I was not interested.
At the end of the day I was very tempted to pull the trigger on the Avianos but then somehow sanity prevailed;Had some water, thanked the owner & headed home.
