Hi guys.. need your advice and suggestion please..

I have an offer for about 2 years old Klipsch RB-41 II for about 300-Singapore Dollar (13k Indian Rupee), is it a good buy to replace the front rear speaker of pionner HS100 Pioneer Thailand

Need your advice as I need to make a decision before today evening.

Note: by the way Boston A25 new sells around 15k. Which one to buy used Klipsch or new Boston

IMHO, Klipsch has a general view that its bit brighter side and Pioneer also pair with same side.

Over that owning a 2 yrs old Klip with no warranty and adds shipping cost, better to chose Boston with come on free shipping and warranty too.

But wait for someone who used and pared these speaker to give better idea

Hi Audio_Freek... thanks for sharing your views...

Klipsch RB41 II : POWER HANDLING: 50W RMS / 200W Peak [SENSITIVITY: 91dB @ 2.83V / 1m]
BS A5 : Recommended Amplifier: 10 - 150W [Sensitivity: 87 dB (SPL/2.8V/m)]

To me it looks like Klipsch is more power efficient because of 91db sensitivity ? :indifferent14:

[ in other note pioneer is very bad as it says 160w max but lacking on below average sensitivity which is 82db only  (cus every 3db increase we have to pass in twice the power to speaker ) ]

Moorthy,

Without shipping cost Klip's are good deal for 13K which runs with lot of power,I assumed that these speakers are shipping with extra cost and so i suggested on BS.But I doubt whether the amplifier or AVR which you are using can handle these kids? as the HT speakers which you used seems tiny compared to klip's

Could you mention the model number of the AVR please

using with Pioneer VSX-822-k link

also i am start considering your advice on Boston as well (if klipsch is not really worth as it has 4" driver, & generally i do not like bright metal drop kind of sound )

thanks!

lot's of power meaning that the Klipsch required 50W RMS as minimum power as stated in the specification??? :indifferent14:

Sorry!!! i am really worried as Klipsch never says what's the minimum power required to drive their speakers .....

No actually i didn't mean it. 50 watts from amp would be sufficient to drive these speakers to sound almost 99db\meter.

But its recommended that amp output wattage needs to be equal or bit higher and most case should not be lower. As when you turn on the Volume knob more to 120 degree, normally some distortion which would affect speakers Tweeter section.

So as precaution i asked for the Amp models:) Nothing to worry:ohyeah:

Sorry, they do not require minimum 50watts, your understanding is wrong.
Even 10w amp will drive them well. Don't worry. Do not just believe in the specs blindly, they are just basic guidelines.

@ thanks for all your help and support, I did not buy this Klipsch as I did not like the condition of the speaker (just the cosmetics :( ).

However something different happen when I went to addition the Klipsch in shop, as they were selling Denon 1713 for (580 SGD) 25k INR :) looks like very good price I will start another thread for the same

Thanks again
