You can have a home demo at my residence..
PMed you..

Samsung PS50B450 is a good model. Another one is LG 50PQ70. Both are 50" Plasmas.

However, if 50-55k is a hard constraint you can look at the following 2 options
1. 47" LCD LG 47LH35
2. 50" Plasma LG 50PQ30

I would suggest 42LH70YR It would fit your budget of 50-55K, decent features and persormance is at par I have 47" same model. which I reviewed HERE.

Also Plasmas are not full HD, incase that makes a difference to you. (if you plan to see full HD movies through a media player in future)......

Also wanted to chk that if i take a plasma will it play full hd as they are only 720p..
also heard about some issues with plasma...i got ur message blasto..thx for the humble reply will be there asap...

Yes it will play 10180p signal without any issue. Signal will be internally converted to 720p.

You can download few HD trailers in 720p and 1080p. Tey playing both to check the difference.

Playing isnt an issue, full HD also plays on a 12" Laptop screen :). The thing is if the LCD is full HD that means it natively supports 1080p res and so the singnal would look far better on a full HD rather then downconverted to 720p On the another hand if you play a 720p upscaled (through ur AVR or Player) to 1080p it also looks better then a 1080p downscaled to 720p. Its always advisable to have Full HD, specially if there is not much of a price difference....

I have a few HD clips which you might demo too.

Well, if the capabilities of the TVs in question are otherwise same, 1080p is better than 720p for marginal price differences. Much depends on the viewing distance though..

But in the lower end of budget and with sizes <=50" and at recommended viewing distances, it becomes a question of choice.

Also, 720p handles SD far better than 1080p TVs in my experience.

sure...thx for the knowlege gain..can i get ur number so i can buzz you..
and do lemme know the comfortable times so i shudn't dist. you

I did a side-by-side TataSky demo of the 50B450 Plasma and 46B550 LCD. The Plasma certainly had more natural colours, but the LCD had sharper images. Overall, felt LCD had better PQ. This was done in a showroom, but in dim lighting conditions (no tubelights near the TVs).

Dont know why it came out like this (was expecting the B450 to do better) - Maybe it's because it wasnt FHD and so pixels are larger. What is the experience others have had ?

i would suggest u to go in for panasonic 42 G11.ITS full hd and gives u an excellent image and value for money.its available in India only thru RESONANCE AUDIO in delhi.I am sure they can arrange it to be delivered in Hyderabad at your residence.i am giving u their mobile no.which is 09971531735.they are stockists for most of the major brands and these guys are really professional and trustworthy.

If you not very particular about plasma... do have look at philips LCD. Although not very widely discussed in this forum it does have excellent PQ.

thx decibel i will check with ne..ne ides about the price for the same mentioned above..

however i have checked few from samsung those are 40 incgh lcd but price is more compared to lg and..

also i checked pannty viera which they are offering three year warranty. almost same price band of 55-58.

checked plasma from samsung, lg and panny but less inclined due to limited capability of 720 p and also not able to play 24p

best option i have sorted out is..

lg jazz theatre
42in
700w (pmpo) guess some 25 w rms (9 speakers 5.1 virtual surround and 2 subs for bass)
200hz
16:9
2000000:1 contrast
usb support for jpeg, divx, avi and videos.
Full hd 1020p (24p video support as well)
3 hdmi port, 2 composite, 2 component, 1 usb.
response time 2ms

he started a price for 63 which i have bargained to 55 cheapest in hyderabad

excite store, metropolitian mall,banjara hills

Plz comment for the same as the other lcds in same range are only 50hz and 5 ms reponse time
also they got contrast ratio for 75000:1 also no usb connectivity so i can swap buying dvd player for a month.. later on plannin to get a xtremer-pro which is on pre-booking right now

the LG 42" 200hz tech is inferior to the 100hz models from samsung/sony and philips.
the sony EX500 priced at about 63k street price and the samsung 40B650( if u can find it) is a better buy then the lg..
