Hello All,
iam texting from Poland. Sorry if my english is not proper and annoying.

Id like to ask if Marantz pm8005 match with ikon6mk2? Should this combo sound well or it would be to bright (unnormall bright)?

What would be diffrent if compare to Roksan Kandy K2 ?

I listen to slow music, with low level of energy at home. Almost never listen tu music which push me to dance at home. Its electronic music like Trentemoller, Royksopp also Jazz as Katie Melua. As you see, i dont preffer dynamic music.

I like detailed sound, with controlled bass, wide and deep stage. I like when speakers "dissapear" and sound coms from behind them, a front of them, wider than they are standing, hope if u know i mean.

Thanks for any replies,
Peter.

Hi Insaimz,

Marantz pair well with Dali's and would sound detailed , But in case you looking for more warm sound then Check out for the NAD AMP.

I can get 2nd hand PM8005 with over 50 months warranty for 880 Eur.
And i found Arcam A38 for similar price, no warranty.

What would be different in sound between them?

I found pairing of dali with arcam better..good for extended listening while with marantz i found it bright. But that was my experience. Please do an audition of both pairing and trust your ears.

i have heard the roksan kandy k2 as well... it is a relaxed amplifier... that describes what you are looking for a relaxed presentation and quite detailed with a nice tight bass.

i have heard the arcam fmj a19 with the Dali Ikon Mk2 over an extended session.. it was a good pairing too.

basically it is upto your ears and your wallet now.. we can only guide so much

but there is one thing - if you make your own choice - most likely you will be able to live with it longer.

Please audition both.. and decide..

good luck !

do post what you got finally..

some pics would be great !

Good an amp that the Marantz is, your DALIs will reward you if you give them better.

For your requirement the amp that comes to my mind is - Cyrus. You will love the combo, I can assure you.

My next choices for your requirement would be Exposure, Naim and Primare, in that order of preference.

is that a tri corner trap on the right side ?

this combo may grow on you and it is possible you may not be looking at any speaker "upgrade" for some time.... be warned :)

I see a laptop in the pic and i am assuming thats the source... whats the DAC like ?

what interconnects and speaker cables do you use ?

regards

I got PM8005 but i still use it with Zensor 7 speakers. I was thinking to upgrade them to Ikon6mk2, thats why I asked "Marantz pm8005 for Ikon6mk2". I changed decision, probably Ill stay with Zensors for longer and in the future Ill get something better.

Probably Ill take some of them:
a)Kef q700/r700
b)Dali Mentor 6 in good offer cost 1670 Eur.
c)Studio 16Hz Minas Anor III - thats polish speakers, popular in my country and verry recomended by polish audiophiles, on polish forums, and in polish audio shops. Price about 1800 Eur
d)Audio Academy Hyperion IV - its another polish option. Bit cheaper than Minas AnorIII but still close to them in quality of sound. Price about 1200 Eur
e)Audio Soultions Euphony 90 - Lithuanian speakers with verry good opinions. Price about 2000Eur for pair.

Before change of speakers iam goin to buy acoustic panells, some kind of this https://www.wyciszamy.net/foto/towary/big/e9172d4e11e6f986cb8f9ac1cd438a76.8.jpg

There is a lamp in the corner :)

Thats true, ill stay with zensors for longer. I send another explaintation with speakers iam thinking to buy but its probably waiting to accept by forum administration.

I use Audio GD nfb 1,32 usb DAC 32bit/384khz

Interconnects i use- Chord Crimson VEE 3 (RCA)

And USB cable wireworld i dont remember version, i paid about 40eur.

How is the pairing of Marantz 8005 with Zensor 7 ? Planning for Marantz for my Zensor 7

Marantz pairing very well with Dali. You can also listen tovand try integrated amplifires from brands:
arcam
roksan
audiolab

Iam happy with Marantz, a lot of space, detailed sound, bass controlled, deep and wide stage.

thank you.

i had a good time visiting the websites of the Lithuanian company and also the Polish ones..

wish i could read Polish... but the pics and the specs are interesting anyways..

I liked the looks of the Audio Academy Phoebe III... nice and simple 2 way front firing floorstanders..but i could not understand much about the drivers / quality.

With the Lithuanian company... the floorstanding models would seem to demand quite some current from the amplifier due to low impedance and low sensitivity - especially for western classical music - i would assume.

Audio Academy Phoebe III is called younger or smaller brother of Hyperion IV.

If someone is looking for linear and audiophile sound it is probably best option in that price. They cost about 762 EUR for pair of speakers. I have heared only good opiniones about them. Many people say they "dissapear" from room while listening to them like dear speakers do. Thats what i wish could be better in my Zensors 7.

For Audio Academy most recomended amplifer is Atoll.

Audio Acadeny is a small company and its easy to speak with owner on Polish forum and even meet him or invite to home to test speakers.

I will ask him what company speakers he put in Phoebe III and let you know...

Also i have question. Are people on this forum mostly from India?

insaimz,

speakers like Phoebe III ( 2 way ) are much simpler to make. The crossover would be simpler too. Thats what i like about them.

yes - hifivision.com is from india though you will find some folks from outside of India as well.

Just in case you have the time - http://www.hifivision.com/speakers/51650-merlin-tsm-bme-14.html - is my setup.

do put up the information on the drivers when possible.

Iam suprised its from India, because of English language. I know that Indians can speak English but I wouldnt expect Indian forum in English Language.

Mr. Michael from Audio Academy answer me back with short English information about phoebe III :"The Phoebe III are characterized with incredible dynamics, timbre and stereography, which are hard to find even in much more expensive loudspeakers. The midrange is truly exceptional. Bass has punch and a lot of control. In well chosen configuration it can impress with its timbre and character."

Tweeter is from SEAS - 27 TBC/GTV
And driver for mid/low is Visaton W 170 S diameter 170 mm

Also i found more informations in some test. "Box" for drivers is made of medium-density fibreboard. Wires inside could be better but then price of Phoebe III would be higher for sure. I wish i would know more English words, I cant find them in dictionary, I would translate informations about this

Specialist say its also could be better but again price would be higher, even twice.
