It will be hard to find dvd roms anymore. Instead look for dvd writer. In my experience lg drives are really good. A few years back i recovered data completely from a cd that was physically broken using lg drive, while my sony and samsung failed to even read the disk. Asus and hp also make dvd drives. Price should be around 1k.
