Wish it would have been launched with a price tag of 65k......:ohyeah:

h_bharti, if you liked the 42" V20, why not visit Croma Rohini and get yourself best deal of 42V20D at Rs 53,000? Launched at 70k last year, selling at 53K this year. ST series launched at 80k this year will have to wait till next year for prices to fall 15K as witnessed with the V20. Unless, you are not in a hurry and can take the time off to get the best deal. :-)

h_bharti, try to revist Chroma Rohini this evening and tell them a very close friend bought it with the special offer Rs 59994/- + 22" Sansui LCD (with cash back option) on Sunday so you know that if they want they can offer the same to you. As you confirmed, price will be Rs 59994 - Rs 7000 = Rs 52994/- (After you opt for th cash back option, you don't need the 22" Sansui LCD, they will deduct 7K from the total). If they insist the scheme is over, that it was only for a limited time, insist to talk to the manager, explain you want to buy it right away if they extend this offer for you. I m sure this will get you the same offer when the guy speaks to his manager, agree to the offer (They are salesmen, understand only salesmen/traders language). Pls check your pm, I sent you details of the contact person.

@imgene Thanks for the rating. The killer deal for now again from Chroma but at South Ext. same as Chroma Rohini. Same price range for the 42V20 (Rs 52,994 without the 22"Sansui LCD cash back Rs 7k). You may have spoken to Mr.Pratish during your last visit, he confirmed it was a limited period offer, BUT, he can speak to his manager and will gladly extend it for you. Extended warranty from Chroma for 2 years @ 2K. Credit cards, debit cards, cash, cheque accepted at no extra charge. Pls check your PM. :-)

@h_bharti If Chroma Rohini don't extend their offer to you, then go for 42V20 at Chroma South Ext. You can speak to Mr.Pratish. On phone, he confirmed it was a limited period offer, BUT, he can speak to his manager and will gladly extend it for you. Extended warranty from Chroma for 2 years @ 2K. Credit cards, debit cards, cash, cheque accepted at no extra charge. Pls check your PM. :-)

1.) How to check whether the delivered piece is new?
Check the packing, protective film on the panel, scratches, etc.

There is an option in the service menu that displays usage hours. Don't exactly know the navigation path. Some owners could tell you. The usage hours should be less than 25.

2.) How to check, the number of hours it has already run?
See above.

3.) Proper breakin process and number of hours in breakin required?
Panasonic claims no break-in is required. But just to be on the safe side, keep this to 100 hours or a month.

4.) Breakin Slides?
No idea. Believe that some DVD is available.

5.) DO we need stablizer ?
Yes.

6.) Links to reveiw of this model?
Click on forum search. :):p:D

Congratulations h_bharti, your purchase has set the lowest price paid for a 42" V20 till date. It was Taurean Bull who tipped us off on the special offer at Croma Rohini, don't forget to thank him too.We can now change the title to "Panasonic V20 (42") No confusion, lowest tentative price in Delhi" ;-)

1.) How to check whether the delivered piece is new?
With the Genuine box packaging, there should be a hologram sticker on the right side of the box and a square white sticker at the bottom right on the front side. With your unit out of the box, inspect the print on the rear black metal casing (behind the TV) there will be an imprint of the production date, ex: September 2010...As just4kix and harty mentioned, it should have the protective film on the front frame intact, should be scratchless, no dust, screw threads unused, etc. The box should contain the User Manual, Pedestal Stand, Metal bracket for the pedestal stand + 7 screws, Black remote commander, Power cable and the 1 Year Panasonic Warranty Card with 4 precut coupons attached one for installation, 3 for Service.

2.) How to check, the number of hours it has already run?
***Warning : This might VOID your warranty if you accidentally change any of the settings, please follow at your own risk. You have been warned***
You will find the answer here
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1503008frenzal56

3.) Proper breakin process and number of hours in breakin required?
100 Hours or 1 month should be fine. You'll see its true potential in pitch dark surroundings while viewing Nat Geo HD / Discovery HD, for movies WB...blu ray movies...with moderate picture settings (Keeping all levels at 50 or below), once you've observed the initial 100 hrs of burn-in. Try and control the ambient light to maximum use double curtains avoid mirrors / glass or cover them in that room to enjoy the 1st 100 hours.

4.) Breakin Slides?
No special break in slides that I know of, can use low contrast settings and avoid channel logo bearing TV rips, animations, etc in the first 100 Hours. Go for Tata Sky HD plus is recommended but all channels have static logos, try not to keep it on a particular channel more than 5 - 10 minutes duration. There is a built-in "Demonstration" mode you can utilize, using your remote commander, select Viera Tools>Viera Cast>Picasa Web Albums>My Photos>VIERA CAST>Play Slideshow contains 6 Full HD demo pictures/sceneries. You can also build a similar collection of your fav pictures, run them in a loop using a Viera Tools>Photo off a USB memory stick.

5.) DO we need stablizer ?
Highly recommended to extend the working life of your appliance, stable volts = a happy appliance with long life for the built in power supply + protection from extreme surges or fluctuations.

6.) Links to reveiw of this model?

HI ALL,

Thanks a lot to all especially videophile, Taurian Bull, Just 4Kix,
On Saturday i got the V20 at my door step at around 4 pm and at 6pm it was installed though on table only as croma didnt supply the Wall Mount. Later on on Sunday Evening it was mount on wall:yahoo:.

1.) Iam keeping the following settings in Normal Mode for the first one month or so:
Contrast: 55
Brightness: 0 to 5
Colur: 35 to 40
Sharpness: 20-30
PNR: Mid
3D COmb: off
Resolution Enhancer: Mid
Intelligent Frame Creation: Usually Off

Movie Mode:

Contrast: 50
Brightness: 0 to 3
Colur: 40 to 50
Sharpness:50 (preset)
PNR: Mid
3D COmb: off
Resolution Enhancer: Mid
Intelligent Frame Creation: Usually Off

I hope these settings are ok for first 100 hours? KIndly Suggest....

Yesterday i watched "Transporter 2", Kungfu Panda and Priest (dont know whether they were in HD or not). As they were played through USB drive. But PQ of Transporter 2 was just awesome.......
Iam wondering that if in this resolution V20 is producing such brilliant PQ than what would happen if i play BD disk or FUll HD material.:licklips:

Guys please tell me the followings:

1.) From where (website) on internet i can download free HD/FHD movies and material.
2.) How many hours i can play the plasma without shutting it down in first 100 hours.
3.) No zoom/aspects feature is working while playing movies through USB (it was played in 16:9 format only but no zoom to it).
4.) In The box i have got one year warranty but from where i'll get the remaining 2 years warranty offered by panasonic as installation guy said that it would be available at Croma store.

Once again thanks a lot to all of u and yes now i can say without even a single doubt that this V20 is the best plasma offered by Panasonic in India till date.............
will update a brief review and pics of plasma with in 4-5 days.....
Info: There is 1 demo piece is available at Croma (saturday evening news) and u can get it in around 51K. Contact Manav 9911770493.... hurry:yahoo:
