Hi Guys,

This amp is costing me around 23 to 25000/- INR to carry from Australia.

Currently I haven't decided on the speakers and most likely I'm thinking of buying wharefedale speakers locally in Bangalore.

At this price are there better options locally in India (+warranty and saving the hassle of customs etc).

you should get the yamaha rs 201 in india for that sort of price. it is a better amp than the pioneer and a good match to the wharfedales

Buying products in India would have get you warranty too. yamaha rs 202 is out now in India

Thanks for the pointer. This seems to fit the bill especially incorporating bluetooth. Parents will use traditional media mostly but us kids will 80% stream.

Pricing in Australia is a mystery. In general it appears that for entry level consumer electronics, India has great prices (after factoring in warranty). On occassion there's deals to be had in Australia for high-end stuff during clearance sales (tax sales / christmas) but for the most part I'm going to stay away from buying here I think and buy locally in India or wait for someone from the US.
