Hi,

I am newbie here and sure this subject must have been dealt umpteen number of times, (could not get detailed thread in recent posts) so raking it once again.

I am planning to buy a 40 inches Plus system within 70k and would look for expert guidance on the subject. As of now shortlisted Pana HD Plasma.

It is primarily for viewing Tatasky HD broadcast and PS3 games, occasional DVD's also.

Expecting an early response as already under pressure from family to go for it.

Warm regards

Sudhir

Given the way technology has improved, I would say it is safe to look at an LCD upto 42 inches. LCD refresh rates today are extremely good, and you will not see any ghosting or pixelation.

Beyond 42, I think Plasma is yet safer.

Cheers

Hi

If it is more of gaming with your PS3 go for LCD which is always better as plasmas have image retention problem even if you take atmost care.

Not again with the image retention and burn in saga. I use my PS3 for gaming a lot on my plasma and I have no such issues. Please stop perpetuating unnecesary paranoia.

Thanks Guys,

Did all research and finally reached to the conclusion that Plasma is better for normal home viewing, i.e. TataSky HD, Movies & PS3 and accordingly
I have gone ahead and bought Panasonic P42V20D @ 61,751/- after all negotiations etc. from ezone.
