Post good DIY kit deals here:-

some gold for less Here-ebay
quote :
The proposed converter is different from the ordinary one in that it contains components that sound good for audiophiles. It has Takman resistors, the capacitors Nichikon Muse, Wima and output vintage 50s capacitors Siemens. There are also legendary chips CS8412-CP and TDA1543 that work without using negative feed back of stabilizers. This technical simplification improves musicality of the sound. The chips are inserted into sockets with gold plated contacts.
PCB
- it is one-sided and has no metallized holes which blur the sound,
- It is not covered with varnish or painted. Paints and varnishes makes the sound unnatural and synthetic,
- there is no common bus, which occupies all available space and makes the sound muddy,
- all wires of printed circuit board are plated with gold 0.9999 (99.99%, 24K) which makes sound warm and natural.

Siemens/Epcos 220 nF 63 V MKT caps - diyAudio

good quality caps for dirt cheap, some 1300 bucks for 200 caps including shipping. i dont mind taking some 40-50 if someone can get these and more people are interested. Not many remaining so gotta be quick.

Very good price.I would have bought but I prefer Polypropylene over Polyester, very good price though.
BTW:These caps are manufactured in my city.

Sachin

Dont know the total cost. the pcb and the chip wasnt very expensive. there was a eu only parts gb also for v2. if something similar is there, I will go for it. or else, follow the BOM and order the parts.

Doors666,

Thank you for pointing us to this interesting DAC. If more people join, we can reach 150 boards quickly. I am thinking of going for 2 boards.

If there are more people from this forum who join in, we can see if we can order other parts for everyone on this forum.

Thanks

this gb is ending 18th oct. All the parts can also be ordered in the gb. including pcb, chips, components, psu borad, psu parts.

previous gb prices -
pcb+chip+shipping - 8+4+10=22$
parts kit - 44
psu kit - 16
total - 22+44+16=82$ + paypal fees.

cost this time is going to be a little higher as the pcbs are gold plated and all that.

Estonian Post is A+++.
Recently bought bulk wires by Dh lab.delivered in 10 days.
Audiohobby is very good.Vendor actually put stamps of the shipping amount.

Thanks for your reply, kaushik! Was in touch with Maxim to buy some caps but was a little uncertain about the post.

Does anyone know how Mundorf compares to Epcos sonically when it comes to electrolytic caps? Or is this a silly question?

Hi,
It depends on the use of application. Both the brands are good.My personal choice is Panasonic FM or FC Series Electrolyte caps. Mundorf known for their film caps.
